Not a huge amount of new books coming out this week. So I am combining the small press new books with the big two. Here is a list of the new series / one shots coming out this week.
Small Press:
Angel and Faith Season 10 #1
Angel’s work is never done. During his most recent world saving, a part of London was transformed and flooded with magic. Who better to watch over this magical community than Angel? At least, that’s what he thinks. Meanwhile, Faith starts a new chapter in her life-slaying zompires alongside Buffy?!
Caliban #1 Avatar-
Master storyteller GARTH ENNIS and Fashion Beast artist FACUNDO PERCIO team up to deliver a haunting new epic of science fiction horror. The crew of the Caliban travels hyperspace on nothing more than a routine trip for the giant vessel. Just human beings that have been inside a bit too long, confident of no other life in the Galaxy, and all the vastness of space to remind them how far they are from home. But when an impossible accident suddenly causes the Caliban to slam into an abandoned alien ship, a nightmare in space begins to unfold. Ennis delivers his unique brand of flawed characters, spot-on dialog, and trademark flare for the unexpected in a new series in the vein of Alien. This is the beginning of the end for the crew of the Caliban

THE ENDLESS AGE OF ULTRON!

I kinda like Dead Letters #1, described as a weird fiction/noir/supernatural.

I missed that last night when I was going through the listings.
I’m looking forward to Caliban. I love a good sci-fi comic book!
I’m excited to see the new Aquaman book due out next week. It’s by local artists Lan Medina and Ed Tadeo, so it’s gonna be epic for sure! They will also have a signing and sketching session next weekend at my lcbs 😀
I pre-ordered Field #1 so I’ll be checking that out. Didn’t get any others mentioned in the article for this week.
The only reason I’m not interested in this one is, I’m so tired of the stories where the main character has “woken up, not knowing who they are, where they’re from, how they got there”… and so on. Dead Letters seems like the same premise…. It’s like beating the dead horse, no matter how hard you try, that horse is still dead! 😉
Didn’t that just happen in Veil? Lol. Well maybe shotgun wedding will better suit you (although it seems like a total kill Bill rip off).
I was iffy on the Veil. I kind of likes it as I do like a lot of Dark Horse horror minis but the rhyming bothered me.
Yup, Veil was exactly that. I took a chance on it and regret that pickup.
The only book I really regret lately was SHOOT First from Dark Horse. It was crap and contradicted itself.
Yeah, I was highly disappointed in SHOOT as well. Veil to me was just awful.
I forgot to mention 68 Rule of War because I enjoyed the previous 68 books and will be checking that out.
I love 68. Have been reading it since the first one shot.
Caliban is my favorite #1 from this list of new #1’s so far.. 🙂
I really enjoyed Caliban and want to see were it is heading. Dropping another Avatar book, God is Dead, to make room for this one.
