24 #1 from IDW sold out a week before release, and print run

Here is one to look for this week. One that TFAW, Mycomicshop, and Midtown are not even listing.
IDW’s 24 #1, the prequel comic to the new Movie 24: Live Another Day has sold out at the distributor level the week before the comic is set to come out. Now I know there are a ton of 24 fans out there and many I am sure will be clamoring to get a copy of this book. So get to the shop early this Wednesday to get copies and put up on eBay.
IDW has reported the book has sold out its initial print run of 12,000 copies. Remember, when a comic sells out at the distributor level, it does not mean you will not be able to find the comic at your local shop, just that when copies are gone, your local stores will not be able to get more first print copies in.
This book is going back for a second printing.

  1. None of my local shops are listing it, are we sure it hasn’t been pushed back? I’d imagine the amount of fans, at least one of the major online retailers would have it listed.

    1. I’ve also seen where Midtown has “Advanced Orders” for a period and they they seem to vanish from the site a week or two before going on sale. Right now I can find advanced orders for 24 #3 listed on their site but not #1 or #2

  2. According to Midtown, the release date for this is 4/23, but it is odd that you can’t advance order it.

    1. Might have been bumped. Bleedingcool stated it was being released this week but might have been bumped back. No one has a preorder. Tfaw.com has 2&3 available for preorder but no listing for #1. Mycomicshop.com does not have it listed for preorder as well.

  3. My shop said they ordered it and they didn’t get it wednesday, so I am guessing it must have been pushed back.

    1. It’s coming out on April 23rd.
You can now pre-order from Midtown (Limit 1 per person for all 3 covers). TFAW doesn’t seem to have any limits set so far (only has covers A and B though from the looks of it). Lock in your orders people so you can get ready to flip, I’m betting this one will be the winner next week..
