I love Five Ghosts. I have met and talked to Frank Barbiere. When I saw him on May 3rd, he was hinting at things picking up for he and Chris Mooneyham coming around or before October. I thought he was talking about the book. But then he dropped an elusive bombshell over at the CGC boards.
Hey guys!
Sorry for the wait, but we crunched hard to get #12 done and it’ll be in shops JUNE 4th. The second trade will be out the first week in July, and then we’ll be back in OCTOBER with issue #13.
Thanks for all the support. We are going to keep the book running as long as possible and we’re confirmed through 25 issues–but we could still use more readers! Everyone here has been such a wonderful promoter of the book and we can’t thank you enough, but we’ll be making a HUGE push for #13 in October. I’ll let you know what you can do if you’re interested in helping, but sincerely, thanks for the support.
We also have some VERY BIG NEWS to announce that will get the book back on the radar in a big way. What could that be? Can’t say yet, but I think you guys will be excited.
For now enjoy the finished cover to #12!
Really think it is time to start hunting down copies of Five Ghosts #1
Man I hit this book so hard when it came out. The urging of a comic book store owner peaked my interest. I have a ton of the first five, a bunch of signed regular and phantoms. I fell off at issue six though, it just wasn’t my cup. I was just surveying my books and was close to selling them for cheap. I will be stoked if this pans out. This will be great!!!!
What area do you live in? Sounds like we may shop at he same stores. Personally I love Five Ghosts and have gotten the chance to talk to Frank B numerous times.
Also I have learned to never sell anything cheap. That’s where regret comes from
Arlington, VA. I just have sooo many extra books! When I began to collect after a decade long hiatus I went nuts. Now I have a ton of stuff I hope to thin out. 5 Ghosts started super strong and then fizzled, and I didn’t see it regaining any steam.
Did you get the books signed at third eye?
Yep. I do most of my business there. And Laughing Ogre.
Right on, i do a lot of their signings.
Oh, I have two login handles from a blog I created for an animation class.
I’m also native to laughing ogre, so good to know…
Just bought a signed #1 for $7 and going to buy a phantom variant for $5. The rest should be pretty easy to get.
I love me some Five Ghosts!
If this does get optioned, it be perfect. I know Anthony and I speculated on this book hard during the thirdeye signings. Let’s go!
Yeah, I sold a ton of the signed books I had, I think this may have been my first signed book offering on the site. I love the book, and actually think Frank B. is a great guy. I enjoy talking to him and really hope this turns out well for him and Mooneyham
I only got one set but I’m keeping them. The one thing I love about this comic is it has that 70s vibe to it with it’s style. Even with each issue with very little dialogue, the art work does a good job telling the story. Forget making this a movie, I think if done right, it would make a really kick ass show!
Was there ever a preview of this in another book?
No but there was a Kickstarter edition and a preview book that was released before the first print came out. Both are pretty much very very rare.
