V-Wars Movie, where there is smoke there is fire

Sometimes rumblings can lead reality. And sometimes where there is smoke there is fire. That is what seems to be going on with V-Wars.

Originally, there was a post earlier today on the G+ comic book speculation and investment community about the possibility of a V-Wars movie. And then I came across a post on Bleeding Cool that substantiated the rumor a bit more.
The post was written by Rod of Rodman Comics, who went to the Diamond Retailers Summit in Las Vegas. While he was talking about a bunch of different publishers’ offerings, he let this bit slip.

The writer of V-Wars was available to sign the series. I had some signed for my customers to help get them into V-Wars hopefully. They brought up Bleeding Cool actually and asked that I hold off saying anything before they announce it. They also had a future presentation to do with more info to be announced. Good group.

In case you missed it, Bleeding Cool and Rod were asked not to say anything, but I was not, so the speculation does appear that V-Wars may have a movie coming.
V-Wars is an IDW comic based on a Novel by Jonathan Maberry. While many people would say it is an adaptation and does not hold any value, I would counter with “How is the Strain Comic working out with that?”
Might be time to quietly back up and grab a copy or two. There were two “regular” versions of the first issue of the comic:
V-Wars Regular Cover
V-Wars Subscription Variant
Copies of V-Wars #1 are going for below cover on eBay.
There were several Variants:
V-Wars #1 Retailer Incentive Cover
V-Wars #1 1:100 Human retailer Incentive
V-Wars #1 WonderCon Variant
There is also a #0 Issue from Free Comic Book Day:
V-Wars #0 FCBD

  1. I heard this was going to be a TV series. Either way its good news.
Also Disney is adapting Big Hero 6 into a movie. There’s a teaser already on the web and I guess a trailer out tomorrow.

  2. I skimmed through it after reading some reviews of the comic and it’s just not for me. I haven’t read any good reviews of it yet. I picked up one on FBCD but have yet to skim it or read it.
CBR gave it like 1.5 out of 5 stars. IGN gave it like 6.8 out of 10. Comicvine gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
American Vampire Second Cycle is some good reading though if your into vampire reads, gotta read the first volume though to know what’s going on.
