Today has been a pretty active day for me and have been out of the home office. I am just catching up on my emails when I got this from New Paradigm Studios Brandon Perlow.
You might hear by next week or coming weeks about Watson and Holmes being optioned for live action. I can confirm this, as this was signed yesterday… figured you should get a heads up.
Brandon has confirmed that Watson and Holmes has been optioned for a live action treatment. Feather films has optioned the property for both Film and TV so it is up in the air at this time which direction they will go in.
Copies of the comic shot up in value upon release of the book due to being sold out before release as well as very favorable press.
Copies can be found at:
Mycomicshop
on eBay
Or, Directly from New Paradigm Studios
Thanks again to Brandon Perlow for giving us the heads up.
Cool maybe I can get $$$$ for my fcbd my wife picked out
Why could this news come sooner? I actually just sold my lot of them (with 3 #1 copies) for a measly $5.00.. Sigh! Unfortunately this one didn’t make my cut after #3 though, I thought the story was getting a little dry..
I sold most of mine early on. I just ordered the black and white cover variants for $1.80 each last night….
I am with you Drew. I sold mine very early on for good profit and then dumped them for a little more than cover + shipping. I had 5 #1 sets. I am not angry, I made my loot back, but it makes me a little annoyed. Kind of when I had the opportunity to buy a stack of Manifest Destiny 1 early on and PASSED……
Even though there are issues sitting at my LCS right now I am passing. Both the art and story fail to impress and I cannot see a movie based on this comic property doing well.
I am curious, and the reason is, is that this movie will appeal to a largely African American crowd. It will do well in the sense that African American film goers tend to be loyal to movies done by and about African Americans. Now this is not always true, not wanting to sound stereotypical, but it is my experience to be mostly true.
I actually agree, I gave it a go myself. #1 was interesting, it sort of fell apart after #2. Not sure how well the story is holding up now but I held onto mine for too long. I don’t see this doing well either at the theater, of course like Anthony said, it’ll probably have a following from the African American crowd but I don’t see them all rushing out to buy the comic book it’s based off either..
This is a tough spec for me to swallow. Even with the very small release, Feather Films just hasn’t produced any quality stuff nor does it have the power of a TWD fan base or studio behind it. V-Wars is the pick for me when it comes to book/show explosion.
