Comics Picks of the Week for Delivery 6/11/14

Once again a surprise book popped up and tool the market by storm. Last week’s Rai #2 mask cover being recalled help skyrocket the prices on the book, for those lucky to get them.
Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, we pick the ones we feel have the best shot of heating up. Here is this weeks for delivery on 6/11/14:
The Walking Dead one:
The Walking Dead #128- The new story arc continues. Issue 127 shot up in price.
The Bombshells ones:
Detective #32 The clear winner with the sexy Poison Ivy Cover. Not that the others are bad, I do like the Batgirl and Superman Wonder Woman ones
Batgirl #32
Green lantern Corp #32
Justice League United #2
Superman Wonder Woman #9
The non-movie movie one:
Blood Queen #1 – Sure it has no relation to the movie Maleficent, but the cross over potential is there to draw some readers in.
The pick of the week:
The Empty Man #1 – Boom keeps knocking it out the park lately. This one is no surprise. Lots of chatter about the book.
The one everyone will get anyway:
Manifest Destiny #7 -Silvestri variant.
You may have to chaise this one.
That’s it for us, let us know what you are speculating on

  2. Alright, so I change my tune on Manifest Destiny 7b, since the two local shops near me didn’t even order them. Midtown is already out of stock, TFAW seems to be out of stock, GrahamCrackers is out of stock, most stores online are out of stock. I’m glad I pre-ordered 4 of these weeks ago.. 🙂

    1. Bunch of eBay listings at $4.99 BIN price.. gobble them up while you can, cause they’ll likely be gone soon.

      1. Same here. My store had none, and didn’t even know about them. I pre-ordered three a couple of weeks ago.

      2. I bought some more copies off eBay myself. I think I’ll have about 8-10 total now. I’m holding onto mine as well. I have this feeling there will be some type of Manifest Destiny show or movie down the road one day. It’s got movie written all over it if you ask me. A show would be cool but I could see that being costly.

        1. Its got to have something. You just don’t get to of the founders and biggest names in comics to team up and produce a cover for a book that is not going anywhere. I really expect to see an announcement on this in some point, Should have held extra 1-4 when I had them

      3. I think it would do great on HBO. They’ve done some good work with Game of Thrones, and that also demonstrates that they have the budget. I think this book would need multiple seasons.

      4. Muhahaha… I still have my multiple copies of 1-5 so far. I wasn’t at first but this series is like Walking Dead, I buy multiple copies at this point.

      5. I think HBO right now is the dream network for shows to land on. With the most freedom to do things. AMC would be decent also.
        If HBO???
        Two Words.
        Sacagawea boobs.

    2. I just don’t understand how people didn’t know about this. I preordered from DCBS months ago. And my LCS ordered me one too. Can’t believe this is catching people off guard.

      1. I can believe it. I’m a huge Manifest Destiny fan, and didn’t know about the variant until I saw the article here.

      2. Well, the few people like us junkies who read nothing else out on the web except things about comics are the ones who don’t comprehend why others don’t do the same.. 😉

    3. Just got 3 of those today at comic shop and a Rai #2 recall. The cover art on Manifest Destiny 7b is amazing to look at in person.

    1. I noticed that as well and was wondering if people posting them to sell online were using a promo picture because it seems all the online retailers had pictures with the red logo. I was wondering myself if it’s something that changed at the last minute.
I ordered from TFAW that had pics with the red logo and the eBay listing I bought more from had pics with the green logo, so we’ll see.

      1. That’s my guess as well. Scanning eBay listings, if they have the green logo, it seems it’s not an actual scan or picture. The ones with a red logo seem to be actual pic or scan of the comic.
