Article by comic book historian Terry Hoknes of www.HoknesComics.com – hoknes@hotmail.com
This column is here to help promote every new comic book series debuting this week.
Pictured are the 3 new series that are selling out the fastest at Diamond !
This weekly article shows how popular the titles are and how close they are to selling out at Diamond.
This will give retailers and collectors a heads up with a reminder of books you want to make sure you get immediately!!
Sometimes books don’t sell out immediately so its worth taking a look back at series that came out in the past few months !
Comics can sell out very quickly so some titles on this list will be more valuable instantly the day of release !
Keep in mind that with 1500 comic stores if even just 20% of stores re-ordered just 1 copy each that would be 300 more copies sold instantly so a book can easily sell out within minutes if the book gets some buzz and/or good response from readers!
So many comics on the list that still have copies left are going to eventually all sell out.
Diamond data of copies still available listed below compiled the week BEFORE release date!

Bought all Three covers of The Wicked + The Divine. I’m hearing it’s the next Saga.
I think the cover C will definitely be the one to get.
I agree, even thou I felt a tad bit feminine loading it. At least it isn’t bronie. I can get past it because it spoke to me as a cover that will speak to a broad audience. After all we are here for that all mighty fiat.
I think people discount how popular Bryan Lee O’malley and Scott Pilgram really are.
Ugh that phrase again. While saga is amazing. comics are an art form only limited by imagination, which sometimes even saga seems to forget. I like to hope for not what is the next saga but what is the next book to be GREATER than saga.
Speaking for Divine, I’m a sucker for pretty girl covers. the theme continues into #2 and #3 covers. We’ll see how the story develops.
Woods 2nd print getting thin.
I Wonder if this will bring a rare Boom! Studios 3rd printing.
I’ll get a copy of Wicked, but the first review I’ve read on roundup isn’t flattering by any means. TMNT In Time interests me. Does anyone know the print run for the bombshells? I’m sure Harley’s will be the most.
Harley, by far, is the most. With still over 3,000 copies sitting on Diamond this could be the best selling and least valuable one.

Wow, it really did get some horrible reviews. The best review though is pick it up and read yourself. Or better yet, skim it at the store before you decide to buy.
When it gets to 20+ reviews full of rants, I’ll take that as a sign. Some gave it 10’s, so I think it might just be comic book hipsters rambling 😀
Some like apples, others like oranges. I always judge for myself.
You cannot ignore a book that has potential for mainstream media coverage.
You cannot ignore first appearance of a character in one of the only remaining mythologies still at the check out in the supermarket.
You especially cannot ignore it if it’s one of the most recognized franchises by civilians:
Civilian influxes to comic market ALWAYS result in a price increase.
ARCHIE COMIC PUBLICATIONS offers Three covers:
ARCHIE #656 Direct Market
ARCHIE #656 Newstand
ARCHIE #656 ROSES ARE RED Variant cover.
(W) Dan Parent (A) Rich Koslowski, Dan Parent (CA) Ramon K. Perez
“Let’s Hear it for Harper” Veronica’s cousin Harper is coming to Riverdale, where she’s considering attending Riverdale High. When she arrives, they see something they weren’t expecting: she is physically disabled. However it doesn’t take long to see that her disabilities don’t hold her back, but instead add to her dynamic personality! Harper teaches the gang how something that you think can hold you back can make you that much stronger-all while being decked out in the most fashion forward wheelchair ever seen!
One story covered by the right media outlet…
BOOM!
( could be today. could be tomorrow. could be six months from now)
Midtown already sold out of both. 😉
Doubtful if Harper of Archie #656 can be as popular as Cheryl Blossom. Barbara Gordon was more popular as Batgirl instead of Oracle. . Also Olympics are more popular than Paralympics.
