I love when the print runs come in for the books the month before. Here are the print runs for the books that shipped in September.
All numbers are courtesy of Chomichron.
The biggest book of the month, sales wise, was Death of Wolverine #1 which came in at 261,975 copies. There were a total of four book over 100,000 copies shipped.
The other books over 100,000 copies are as follows:
Death of Wolverine #2 129,999 copies
Batman Futures End #1 127,623
Harley Quinn Futures End #1 105,382
We tend to look at the other end of the spectrum though, the books with the smallest print runs that we have talked about. These books of interest go from highest to lowest:
Copperhead #1 24,272 (largest of the spec books we talked about last month
Roche Limit #1 23,404
God Hates Astronauts #116,689
Spread #3 15,691 (favorite of many on the site)
Wayward #1 15,063 (this does not seem to include the variants)
Annihilator #1 10,345
Wilds End #1 9,165
Jim Henson’s Storyteller Witches 7,645
Strain Night Eternal #2 7,540 (insane for a book that has a tv show tie in)
Rot & Ruin #1 6,809
Town Called Dragon #1 3.412
All in all, nice lower print runs coming out of Image. No real surprises though.

Wayward #1 im sure does include the variant covers but this means that the print run per cover is ridiculously low like only about 3,700 copies per the 4 regular covers !!
It was listed as the regular cover and that is why I out the caveat in.
Wayward has to be just the regular cover as there are stacks of these still at my local shops.
As for Strain, it seems to only hover around the 6-10k mark, looking at all the past issues trends. But yes, you’d think it’d start getting larger. As the show gains popularity, covet these issues, people will be seeking them out.
its Wayward #2 which is why the number is at that level which is fairly high.
I’m surprised Rot & Ruin was under 7K. It has a pretty good book following, and the movie is farther along than a lot of other spec books. the 1:10 variant would come in at under 700, crazy.
