Quite a few years back, I want to say around 2006, I picked up a fun road trip/zombie book called Zombie Highway. It was about a group of thieves being chased by guys far worse then them and zombies. Flash forward years later, and I started to support a Kickstarter campaign for a book that I fell in love with the concept of, Suicide 5. I was very surprised to find out the book was written by Jason Pell, the same writer of the fun mini-series Zombie Highway.
Jason successfully funded Suicide 5 and got the books out to everyone. Now he is Kickstarting the other work of his that I had been a fan of, Zombie Highway. Not only am I a fan of the book, but it is also a Kick Starter staff pick.
Zombie Highway was originally put out by Digital Webbing. There were a couple of mini-series and a one shot. The Zombie Highway HC Collection contains The World Accordingly mini-series, the Wild and Wonderful series, the Back in Blue special, the never before available Sutter’s Tale, and other surprise goodies. The book clocks in at over 200 pages.
So what is the story about?
Meet Kuji, Mouse, Yeti, and Tag. The heart of the story beats in the chests of our quartet of rogues. They act and talk not like heroes, but people. Flawed, vulgar, and often politically-incorrect, but still very human. These aren’t the guys you’d necessarily trust your life with, but they are the kind of guys that keep things interesting.
After stealing a mysterious package, everything begins unraveling at the seems. That unraveling is something Mouse and crew won’t accept. Not until they get paid at least!
Jason is trying to raise $10,250. They are currently at 17%. The funding period goes on to 11/26.
Check them out on Kickstarter.
