  1. Mostly Image this week…
    Birthright #2
    God Hates Astronauts #3
    Humans #1
    SPREAD #4
    Tooth and Claw #1
    The Woods #7

  2. New Spread for sure! Thought I may have missed a few issues… I’ll also grab the Mercenary Sea. Fun book!

  3. It’s a big week for me after a few smaller weeks:
Detective Comics #36 (I’m digging the new storyline, back to detective like basics for Batman)
Superman Unchained #9 (Snyder, Superman.. it’s actually good, too bad it’s not more consistent. The art is fantastic as well)
Birthright #2 (#1 was good, let’s see if the momentum keeps going in this issue)
Chew #44 (It has Chogs and a fighting warrior chicken.. it’s a must pickup)
God Hates Astro #3 (Best Laugh Out Loud comic currently)
    Humans #1 (I liked #0, let’s see where it’s going)
Merc Sea #7 (Highly underrated and the artwork is very cool, makes it seem like your watching a late night Adult Swim cartoon)
Nailbiter #7 (Each issue leaves you with a bit of what comes next, making you want to read more of what’s to come)
    Spread #4 (It’s Spread dammit)
Velvet #8 (Brubaker, the best spy/crime heavily narrative writer out there, makes you feel like your in the people’s heads, in the story itself)
ASM #9 (New spider girl Silk in storyline now, that Gwen girl… yeah)
Star Lord #5 (I need to catch up with these, one of the only few I’m still behind on)
Men of Wrath #2 (I liked issue 1 and Aaron rocks)
New Avengers #24 (Yeah, Avengers fan)
Rocket Raccoon #5 (Entertaining for sure)
    Day Men #5 (About time)
    Wool #6 (The conclusion issue)
Brainstorm #3 (Actually a good read so far, it’s got my attention to keep buying currently)

    1. Those are my definite pick ups above. There might be more, Tooth and Claw might be a pick up (since it’s hard to pass up an Image #1)

      1. Got my pickups at my usual store, got early to the other local shop that usually places variants at cover out, I went nuts as I got some high priced variants at cover, the primary winner was the Tooth and Claw Black and White Variant, which Midtown is listing at $300 ($255 at discount).
Nabbed the Fairy Quests Outcasts #1 Black and White for cover and the Over The Garden Wall variant for cover.
But I had no idea that Tooth and Claw Black and White variant was that rare, anyone know the ratio of that one? Is it a 1:100 variant?

                1. Lol. I had a pipe break that caused the dry wall in the basement ceiling to need to be replaced. Of course insurance will cover it but i have a $500 deductible (thankfully all my comics were nowhere near the leak) so i put a ton of books up on ebay to cover that. A $300 book would help to cover a major portion but i doubt i will be lucky like that.
All the same great grab and congrats on successful picking. Its stories like these that keep me in the game.

                2. Yeah, not even sure I’ll sell yet. If the comic is good, I might be hanging onto it for the collection if I continue buying since it was mentioned that this will be an ongoing series (which always pick up more readers and have long term value potential).
Sorry about the pipe burst, I know what that feels like when crap happens and you got to fork over some bills to fix.

        1. I haven’t read any pickups today yet. This week was huge so gonna try and blast through as many as I can tonight when it’s quiet. 🙂

        1. Yeah. I hope it’s good. I mostly got it for my 8 year old who was a Super Dinosaur fan. It’ll be a good ongoing monthly pickup for him to start reading again. I almost convinced him to send Robert Kirkman a letter of his disgust in regards to Super Dinosaur. 😉

          1. I saw Kirkman at NYCC he popped in while I was talking to Joshua Williamson. I should have asked. I should have at least said something.
I met Kirkman 10 years ago at Baltimore Comic Con, before he was The Robert Kirkman. He was nice then, I am sure he is still nice now, just with pockets full of cash.

            1. Very busy too. I’m actually surprised he has time to write any more comics than Walking Dead with his busy schedule around the show.
He should have passed off Super Dinosaur to another writer, like he did with Thief of Thieves.. which suprising, I was going to drop but Andy Diggle has done a great job to keep me buying.

      2. So it appears the Black and White variant was a 1 per store variant. Seems a few are on the Bay starting at around $39.99 and one at $49.99. The third one is currently at $15.50 as auction style with almost 3 days left. Maybe Midtown really inflated their price but if this book takes off, this would be the issue to have if it’s truly a 1 per store.

  4. Spread #4
    Humans #1
    Tooth and Claw #1
God Hates Astronauts #3 (hilarious writing)
    Amazing Spiderman #9
    Nailbiter #7 (Awesome Awesome series!)
    Spider-Verse Team Up #1
Penny Dora and the Wishing Box
There’s a lot of good stuff this week.

    1. I’ll have my verdict tonight. I usually read my existing ongoing issues first before starting anything new but I’ll read this one first as I’m interested.

      1. I thought it was good, not anything astonishing but still good. Likely a slow build up, character development since I do believe this is going to be an ongoing series. I do feel you’d have to really be into this type of story line though. The art was good. But I can definitely say it’s not for everyone and where one could find it boring. I’ll likely pick up #2 to see where it’s going. All comics on probation. If they start to suck, there’s no reason to keep buying them. Sometimes it’s after issue 1, other times it might be issue 8.

  5. According to Image, Tooth and Claw has sold out at the distributor level. No mentioning of 2nd print but we can likely assume it’ll go back for a 2nd print if it’s sold out.

      1. Yeah, I totally lucked out nabbing this at cover before anyone else searched. I guess they ship the RI B&W copy mixed in with all the others as it was sitting right smack in the middle of them all. I make it a habit just to visit this store right after it opens to skim the comics, if they get variants, they get placed on the shelves with all the others.
