Vertigo's Lucifer gets OK for pilot

Sorry for the slew of Comic TV and Movie stories, I am cleaning out my RSS feed and catching up on news.
Bleeding Cool is reporting that the Fox TV show based on the Sandman spin-off Lucifer is green-lit for a Pilot.

Last year, Fox commissioned a “put pilot” for a TV series from Warner Bros based on the DC Vertigo series Lucifer, by Mike Carey and Peter Gross, itself based on the character developed by Neil Gaiman on Sandman. That means the network promises that the pilot will air, or pay a stiff penalty. It is to be showrun by Californication‘s Tom Kapinos.
Well, according to good sources, the pilot has been approved, and greenlit.
Described as a slice-of-life drama in, out of Hell and into Los Angeles, it looks like Satan is coming to prime time again pretty soon…

Lucifer first appeared in Sandman #4. He got his own book in Lucifer #1 (mini-series) and then went on to have an on-going series in Lucifer #1
