Comics Picks of the Week for delivery 2/11/15

Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 2/11/15:
Let’s knock this one out of the way first
The one with the walking and the dead:
Walking Dead #137– No lie that I love this series. With two shows going to be airing there is no way these issues aren’t fertile ground for concepts to be on tv later. I always buy a couple of each one.
The New Image #1:
Empty #1– I always recommend new Image books, just so much to choose from.

Part One Tanoor lives in an empty apocalyptic world of poison and decay. Her village is all that remains of humanity as they struggle against mutant beasts and rotting bones. But Tanoor finds a chance to save her people when a stranger drifts into town. A stranger armed with the power to grow life from death. A stranger who could change the world-if Tanoor can keep them alive in the deadly world of The Empty

The return of the favorite:
Five Ghosts #15– Great story, great (low) print runs, TV show in the works, no giving up on this one yet.
The Small Press Gem:
Harvester #1– Legendary has been putting out some great books of late. Small print runs on books like A Town Called Dragon helped bring books up in value.

Since the dawn of time, mischievous troublemakers have been warned of his wrath, scholars have searched for traces of his existence and evildoers have been tormented by the unstoppable force that goes by a single name: The Harvester. Witness the dawning of a legend as The Harvester rises, enforcing his own breed of blood-spattered justice as he battles an unruly biker gang terrorizing a small town. In the wake of the emergence, a young academic obsessed with finding the truth partners with a rogue investigator eager to join her hunt. Together, they just might expose the Harvester for whoever – or whatever – he really is.

The pick of the week:
Frozen #1– Laugh all you want, but kids love Frozen. The book is sold out in advance, which is huge. Expect a small print run and a demand for it.
That is it for us this week, tell us what you are spec-ing on.

  1. Frozen is a phenomenal pick! For it to be the highest selling Blu-Ray in America I imagine it’s going to be extremely sought after by a few collectors and a ton of parents.
Empty may also have been very under ordered. Question is if it’s any good.
