Sex Criminals #11 was originally advertised as having $1,000 polybagged in a copy. Now that has changed and 1,000 sketch covers will be inserted in randomly selected polybags. Read on to find out.
Besides the XXX variant, which can be bought for $4.69, all issues of Sex Criminal #11 will come polybagged. Originally Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky were planning on randomly inserting $1000 in an issue. See the original solicitation from Mycomicshop.

But now, Chip Zdarsky is saying that they have created 1,000 blank sketch covers with sketches on them.

every copy of SEX CRIMINALS #11 ships in a sealed bag. at first we were going to put a thousand dollars in some random issue, but it turns out that’s super illegal. so we printed 1000 special blank-ish covers and spent today at cadmus in richmond VA drawing dicks and stuff on 1000 comic books. they will be randomly mixed in with the rest of the print run and should be, to the best of our and cadmus’ abilities to make such things happen, impossible to find without opening them. it costs $3.50. we cannot procure you any; we cannot tell you how to get them. if you want one, buy a copy of SC #11 and you’ve got something like a 1 in 35 chance give or take.
(there is a special XXX cover that was printed-to-order; it too ships in a sealed bag [because the cover is, as advertised, XXX] but that costs $4.69 [get it])

The last issue of Sex Criminals sold 22,067 copies. Expect a higher demand for this issue. It is being estimated that your chances of getting a sketched copy is 1:35.

Nice, I ordered 2 copies of the xxx variant a couple of weeks back, but this is even better. So, will they be randomly inserted in the xxx variants as well or just with the standard cover?

Right now it looks like it is sold out in advance order in many online stores. Mycomicshop will have them up the day before release for preorder so keep an eye out there.

That’s not how odds work. You would most likely get one this way, but there is no guarantee and it would cost you $122.50….. I bet Matt would draw you a dick for less than that if you contacted him…… Hell he’d probably draw you AS a dick if you sent him a headshot..
The downside of it is you would not get the special cover limited to 1000 copies. Lots of Sex Criminal fans will want them.

I wonder what the print run will be. I don’t think they will have the sketch cover for the variant. I think it’s only for the regular cover. The variant is print to order only.

Idk, 8 of the 9 sketch covers looks like a 5 year old drew them. Definitely not for me. To bad inserting $1,000 was illegal somehow because can you imagine the value of an unopened one?
You can only really see the first two, so I’m not sure how you’ve came to this conclusion
The closest one to the camera looks good the rest look like crap in my opinion. You can see a lot more effort went into that one than the others.
Well this was obviously rushed Corona. I think it’s awesome to change a bad situation into a good one. They couldn’t put a grand cash in a comic so they spent hours and hours sketching blanks to make up for it. They could have just said, “Sorry. We made a mistake. That was illegal.” Whether I get an awesome sketch or a hilarious dick cover isn’t the point. It’s the fun of the chase. Hope you can understand the effort.
I ordered 4 online so far, I’ll probably pick up a few more on the day of release as well. My question is….are they going to be more valuable unopened or should we take the risk in anticipation of a dick
