Wednesday Winner: Rivers of London #1

I like picking up new comics on Wednesday. I love picking up comics on Wednesday that go for multiple times cover price a day or two after Wednesday. Rivers of London #1 is one of them.

Rivers of London #1, from Titan Comics, has sold for as high as $16.99 on eBay, is sold out at the distributor level. On-line shops have been drained. This was our “Small Press Gem” pick of the week for 7/15/15. Even with the prices of the completed auctions, some people may not be aware because there are copies of Rivers of London #1 up on eBay now with starting prices of .99 cents. These won’t last and probably will end higher than that.

    1. Hard to tell.. if the media deal follows through and it gains more popularity over time, could be worth more down the road but it’s certainly a quick flip now for those that got them at cover.

  1. It also seems to be selling at higher prices from the international sellers on eBay. Seems their “Sold” averages are in the $25 median range while here in the U.S. they’re in the $12-$15 median range.

  2. Any idea on the print run? I grabbed the variant for this as well, which has sold as high as £50. They seem scarce…

    1. I could only speculate the print run based on previous Titan releases. I would guess at or below 8k copies just based on what Titan puts out. But since this is a known property with a media deal I could be way under the mark.

  3. Early gains are always encouraging. Most comics don’t appreciate until years later. But uncertain about whether rabbit beats turtle in the long run?

  4. Mate you missed the other big seller,
BOOK OF DEATH LEGENDS OF GEOMANCER #1
I think only one comic shop got these in the UK

    1. Oh yeah. That is definitely a dig seller. Problem is, like you said, not many stores for copies. We had it as a pick of the week but knew that it would be hard to find. I emailed my LCS days in advance to get a copy and all six copies they had were spoken for b

      1. I reserved a copy of Legends of the Geomancer from my LCS for $17. When I picked up my copy, there were 3 left behind the counter. I was pretty surprised, but I’m not sure how many people realize what the book is.

      2. Do you think its worth holding on too for longer term or just a flip? I managed to get few copies, but not sure if I should carry on selling them or hold on too! I understand this is the first new Valiant comic story line only sold as a variant!
        The cover is amazing tho.
