Welcome to Showside optioned as TV Show

Upcoming October release book, Welcome to Showside has been optioned for a TV show. Welcome to Showside from Z2 Comics, out October 28th and available for pre-order, was announced as a TV show during the same press piece that mentioned the One Trick Rip off movie deal.

A new production company formed by film director/producer Sridhar Reddy and Z2 Comics publisher Josh Frankel has announced plans to adapt comics by Ian McGinty and Paul Pope for the screen. Called Modern Prometheus, the company’s plan is to bring the upcoming Welcome to Showside by McGinty to television as an animated series, with a film version of Pope’s The One Trick Rip-Off to follow.

Henry Rollins is said to be among the cast of actors lending their voice to the show.

Showside is just your average southern town, except that portals to the Nexus realm keep popping up and flooding the town with demons and monsters. The only thing keeping Showside safe is Kit and his friends Belle and Moon. From the writer/artist of Adventure Time Candy Capers and Bravest Warrior comes an all ages romp with a horror twist.

Showside has been optioned for a TV show. Welcome to Showside should be a good one since it will be a small press book, small print run, and already announced show planned. It is available for pre-order now.
