Ones to watch: S.H.I.E.L.D #9 Kirby and Steranko Variants

Here are a pair of sweet variants. S.H.I.E.L.D. #9 is a special 50th anniversary issue that will have a special set of 1:50 color and 1:75 black and white variants featuring Jack Kirby art with Jim Steranko inks.

  1. Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be paying the required crazy-price for that variant. But I DID get the promo poster for less than 5 bucks on Ebay. Fit for framing!

  2. At $50 and $100 I think I will wait until the price goes down. I just can’t see the price of this maintaining. Not like the Spider-man #700, Ditko variant that had the original cover of AF #15 depicted on it. That’s kind of iconic and a bit more limited too. These, not so much. Awesome to see new Kirby art emerge but not at that price point. Not for me anyway. A definite cool factor though.

    1. Midtown had them. Color for $34 and the BW Sketch for $51. BW Sketch was sold out within a few minutes of them updating for next weeks releases. I nabbed a color, I haven’t checked but they’re probably gone now as well.
