  1. I love the Tony Moore cover. Showing an broken down aged Rick from the 1st issue is just awesome. I do miss Tony Moore as the artist and cover artist, I think his covers were way better than Adlards.. Sorry Adlard, your great but Moore’s details were just a tad bit better.

    1. You might have to race those runners at your lcs for it!
That’s your shop right? With the new running regulars??

        1. One day, you should go wearing like a sweatband and line up beside them track style. Like, fingers on the ground, butt in the air. Hehehehe

          1. That would be hilarious.. honestly, one day I’m gonna eavesdrop or just ask them.. whatch’all gonna grab today? When they tell me, be like.. oh, cool, it’s all yours. Then when the doors open, run faster than them and snag them all if they have what they said they were after. 🙂

            1. Omg that would be amazing. You’d have to give the shop a heads up so they can enjoy it too. Maybe even a go pro to catch it on film.

                1. Or talk to your local comic shop, I am sure they are annoyed with them, and see if you can set up a Willie Coyote style trap for them. Two steps from the books and giant bolder falls on their heads

  2. I really, really, really want the ottley variant!
I’d take the Moore too, but I have so much of his stuff it’s not even funny anymore.

  3. I like the window reflections in the Tony Moore cover showing the dead members of the cast: Shane, Lori, Glen. Dale….

  4. Lol you need a big red X on the ground though. And a safe or piano should fall on their head. That way you can open the safe door and they’ll be standing there with birds flying around their heads, or if it’s a piano, they’ll have keys for teeth.

  5. I just preorder 10 blanks and thr moore cover. I don’t get why people just don’t ask thr shop owners to order whatever instead of a mad rush to buy whatever. Like a month ago went to my lcs early and another guy was waiting w a baby carriage.
I go in and get my weekly pull and look around the guy w the baby is snatching everything up like hiphop variants ect. Clearly was a flipper so I grab what I need and walk over to the manager and ask him to get me some variants out of the glass case.
I get Klaus 1 virgin variant and Howard the duck 1in 50 and while the manager is handing it to me the flipper says can I have that. The balls of the guy! Mangers like nope sorry he asked first. I brought the variants out of spite and hate it when I goto the shop a few hours later and the place is picked over like the apocalypse has came lol.
My whole point is just ask a little in advanceand you can get what you want most of the time, I just hate it when flippers grab everything and leave nothing fpr anyone else that reads whatever. Even when i know something will be a hot book I preorder not ro be a jerk and if I get more to flip I’ll leave 2-3 copies so others can buy them to.
Anyone else agree even if your a flipper leave a few comics for thr readers?

    1. I am a flipper a reader and a collector. I buy things that other people like so I can sell them to buy what I like. With that said I do not recommend shelf clearing and ask ahead before I buy in bulk. I do hit a couple of shops that sell a ton of back issues and they say buy however many you like of anything. But it is about relationship building and shops prefer if you to not come in the first time and try to buy all the copies of all the hot books.

    2. Release day, I won’t clear the shelves. After that, people had their chance. Most of the time I don’t go back to the shops unless I know something is heating up and the local shops likely had issues still on hand.

There’s one guy, he admitted once to shelf clearing a hot comic while everyone else was picking through most of the others. It was a certain kids issue that picked up heat ahead of release. Said he walked over, grabbed the stack of 10+ went and paid, put comics in car and then came back to grab the other comics he wanted that day, so no one would see him with the stack (cause people were asking the shop if they got any and they were like, yeah, but we’re now sold out). This is the same guy who also told me he collects, bought over 30 of the Deadpool’s Secret Secret Gwenpool variant.. I replied with a, that’s nice you grabbed that many, selling those will put a nice profit in your wallet. He replied with a.. I don’t sell any comics, I only collect. I’m like why do you need 30+ of the same comic. He’s responded with, cause I collect them and they’re valuable. I just responded with.. if you never sell them and never plan to sell them, they’re not worth anything to you then. I don’t think he understood that last line cause he looked puzzled.

So yeah, there’s people who gobble up every copy they can and don’t even sell. That just baffles me.

A year ago I told everyone to buy Walking Dead #100, primarily 2nd prints. I was picking them up at $8 or less.. now I’m selling them for $45+. I’m keeping one for the personal collection, the rest are getting sold cause well, I don’t need that many of the same comic.
