Poyo’s Picks of the Week for Dec 30th, 2015

The last Wednesday of 2015. Overall I think it was a great year, there didn’t seem to be as many duds this year as last, at least for myself. For the most part, there was a lot of great new series introduced especially amongst the Independent Publishers including Black Mask and 451 Media.

Let’s get on with the last picks of the week for the year 2015, which is a bit smaller to end the year out.

DC Vertigo Pick of the week:

Batman Europa #3 (DC) – I’ve really enjoyed this one so far. It’s strange watching Batman and Joker actually working together.

Marvel Pick of the Week:

Obi-Wan and Anakin #1 (Marvel) – It’s a Star Wars #1. I know a lot of people dislike the younger Anakin since what’s his face ruined it in episodes II and III but remember, this also has Obi-Wan and he’s still cool. Can’t go wrong with Soule’s writing either.

The Indie Pick of the Week:

Dreaming Eagles #1 (After-Shock) – A story (inspired by true events) about the first African American fighter pilots taking on Hitler in WWII, yes please. The regular cover is a sweet Francesco Francavilla cover as well.

  1. So Europa hasn’t been bad? I just felt like it too so long to come out (literally years) it couldn’t hurt me to just wait a little longer for the trade and give it a flip-through.
