Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stand, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we feel have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 2/10/16
I am finally having one of those small weeks every one talks about. I will still probably end up walking out paying more than I planned. Overall, not a huge week.
Small Press Gem
Kings Road #1– This one looks good. A family find out there are from another dimension and they are being chased by other dimensional monsters.
The New #1
Dark Bloody #1– Monster and Moonshine, what more could you want. The current line of new Vertigo horror books have been great and this looks like another hit.
The Returning Favorites
Low #11– Remender, epic book.
Black Science #20– This book keeps getting better and retter, Remender again.
Harrow County #9– This has risen to the top of my read pile, no huge print runs on it and optioned. I really hope this makes it to screen as it has been such a great book.
Letter 44 #23– Still hanging tough with this one. Again, another great read and I really liked the twist at the end of the last issue. I am enjoying the ride on this. Would love to know what happened to the option.
Spread #13– Still an all time fave for me and many on here. The Lone Wolf and Cub meets The Thing story keeps “spreading” and becoming a more rich story.
Pick of the Week
Jonsey #1– I see this ending up getting a TV or movie deal and moving the way Lumberjanes did. Just a hunch.
One for the bookshelf
Roman Ritual TPB- One of the best horror reads in a long time, this is a must pick up for horror fans. The pope is possessed and needs an exorcism. El Torres is the best horror writer out there when it comes to genuine scares on the printed page. His current book is Straightjacket, and we are huge fans of that as well.

Might catch back up on Harriw County. Sabrina has left a hole in my pull list in the female protagonist horror category and it’s a small week for me.
Also, I loved Spread 12! That issue was BRUTAL. I can see how the author was so uncomfortable writing that. Sh!t!
How could I forget about Black Science and Spread? I’ll have to pick those up this week too.
