Agent Poyo's Picks of the Week for Feb 17th, 2016

So, we raised money for Larime’s wife, to literally save her. A huge thanks to all that participated. I would consider it a success and it’s all going to a great cause.
Now it’s time for new comic book Wednesday. Last week just wasn’t that exciting, with no potential specs or heat on most of the books. Sure I picked up around 20 or so books myself, but most if not all were just my ongoing pickups I’m currently reading.
So is this week any different? Hard to tell, so let’s get on with the picks of the week.
DC/Vertigo Pick:
Wonder Woman #49 (DC) Neal Adams Variant – Picking this one just because it’s Neal Adams. These have been flying off the shelves quickly in my neck of the woods. There are a lot of Adams fans so don’t expect these to be too easy to find.
Marvel Pick:
Power Man and Iron Fist #1 (Marvel) – If done right, could be great. But could easily be a dud. I know I gave the last Iron Fist a chance but just found it hard to follow for the most part. Hopefully David Walker and Greene’s art make this a good ride.
Indie Pick:
Divinity #1 (Valiant) One Dollar Debut – Yes, it’s that good. If you missed out the first round last spring, pick this sucker up for a dollar.
Honorable Picks:
Devolution #2 (Dynamite) – #1 was awesome, blew away little expectations I had (well, Remender is just awesome though). Don’t pass this up or miss out, great story, great art.
Sex Criminals #14 (Image) – It’s back.. I missed this one.. they better stop doing these large gaps between releases.
Starve #6 (Image) – The surprise comic I never thought I’d like. Really really good and original.
That’s all I got, nothing big on actual spec’s again but still a busy week for my own pickups on the ongoing titles I’m reading.

    1. Heh, I’m really digging it. When I first read the description when previewed, I had my doubts how it would retain my interest but yeah, big surprise.

    1. Maybe one day I’ll go back and read. I found the first issue just hard to read.. maybe it was the way it was laid out.. Hmm..

  1. i agree with your comments on PowerMan and Iron Fist. With Luke Cage appearance on the Jessica Jones Netflix show, I think that gives the book more exposure to a new audience!
