We Stand on Guard In Development?

Thanks to Charles over at Sequitur and Emibeg for sending this over.
Brian K. Vaughn was speaking with The Comic Books in reference to the comic We Stand on Guard. During the conversation, he drops hints that We Stand on Guard could be developed in to a media property.
At the 16:42 mark, Brian K. Vaughn talks about We Stand on Guard being developed into a media property. “More news in the months to come” are his exact words.

Copies of We Stand on Guard #1 are extremely cheap on eBay, like under $3 cheap.
Mycomicshop has them for sale at the sub $3 mark.
BKV is a fan favorite writer, and an option could cause the book to heat up.

  1. Great news. Just managed to secure all six issues in VFN / NM condition at under $12 delivered πŸ™‚

    1. I know a lot of people say that. I don’t think it matters any more. It’s a mini that at the end of it they talked about revisiting. Also, NYX was also a mini and look how well the first appearance of X-23 is doing (not saying this will do the same but NYX was also a mini)

        1. I liked the comic until the end, seemed rushed.. could of been longer, better story telling, etc. The movie was way better, cheesy but fun.

    1. I believe BKV said he was trying to make Saga so out of this world, it would be impossible to option or make into a movie/show. πŸ™‚

  2. I bought an entire set the other day out of the bargain bins for $5. I’m gonna go back for some of the individuals I saw in the $1 bin. πŸ™‚

  3. This is decent news. Glad they’re so cheap. Makes me wonder though, with all those talks about Y the Last Man being optioned and going nowhere, could this be the same? Guess we just have to wait.

    1. That’s the things with options. You just never know. Some languish and wither away, others you wish they had.

      1. It’s always the production companies fault too.. they can’t decide on a writer or script, can’t get it together.. 90% of the crap produced is ever seen. There are movies out there that people will never see, sitting on a shelf. My wife worked on one, cheesy Sasquatch movie.. from the maker of the Blairs Witch Project.. shot over 5 years ago.. like they say, it only takes on car to cause a major traffic jam.. same could be said for the movie and TV business.. takes just one person to mess it all up..

              1. Wife said the coolest part was seeing how they did some of the action scenes but the guy who did Sasquatch also did Predator.. known actor who does those types of roles when it involves big characters with huge costumes and stunts.

              1. Yeah, I think it posted but went to wrong reply.. you’ll see it posted twice now, the one with the URL link in it. Feel free to delete the one when you scroll up..

      2. Wow. I just realized I read more back and forth between the two of you than actually posting. And I love it. It’s like a visual podcast. Where would this site be without your banter?

    2. That’s what I love about this site and why I continue to come here. You make it feel inviting. Heck, I’ve been here for a while and the only reason I don’t post as much is my stupid Iphone isn’t memorizing the info so I can just write. It’s cool hearing that podcast Trey started up, Mel always reps the CHU. Good stuff man

  4. If it were to become an ongoing that in itself would be good news. There is a lot more story to be told in that series.

    1. A story like this would be like Star Wars.. so many spin off stories, before and after stories, it’s really wide open to be honest.

  5. “We Stand” was a great mini series. Got around to reading issue 1 a couple months ago. I then found 1-6 on eBay for $5, so I bought it to read the rest. Was going to put it back out there for someone else to grab it for a good cheap read. Part of me said don’t do it because it’s BKV. Glad I hadn’t got around to that yet!

    1. I thought it did get optioned, just waiting on if anything develops from there. Although, it’s been a while, if there was an option, probably lapsed by now.

    2. It has been optioned just not made. Which is a shame this group of kids would be awesome to see on the big screen. And while we are talking about Bresson books I am disappointed that Violent is moving out of Image to Kickstarter funded trade paperbacks.
