DC Rebirth Spoilers Leak.

Bleeding Cool had the story on the issue of DC Rebirth that leaked on Reddit and it is pretty Crazy. Do not read on if you do not like spoilers.

The quick summation from the original Reddit post:

Wally West is back. There are three Jokers. The Original JSA is back. Watchman are now part of the DCU and are responsible for the loss of time??? The last part is a mind f-ck.

And what Bleeding Cool had to add that according to leaked pages, Dr Manhattan created the New 52 Universe. He may also have some doings in creating Rebirth.
As a result of the creation story, started to sell on-line.
Looks like finally a chance for stores that have been sitting on issues of the book to finally sell them. Before Watchmen Dr. Manhattan #4 has been moving online and few copies are left on ebay.

      1. Not sure on that. Depends on the overall print run of the book. I don’t think it had a huge print run. I would guess around 200 to 250 each were made of that variant if roughly 40 to 50k were made, but that is only a guess off the top of my head.

  1. I thought Before Watchmen Dr Manhattan #4 would be the origin of the DC Rebirth? Or is it #1?

  2. What about wally west. Is it worth getting old wally west key comics? Or better to focus on new wally west key comics? Cause there saying the old wally west is back, but its confusing cause if u look at the dc rebirth picture the new wally west is in a kid flash costume so not sure which comic to go after, new or old wally.

  3. Jay: im thinking only 4 is worth getting and from the sales it seems the regular 4 isnt selling for much yet….then again well see what happens today….i grabbed one variant from midtown before they sold out but if im hunting its watchmen 12 or before manhattan 4 only

    1. Okay cool thanks. What a out wally west? I was thinking ciris 12 would be a good buy but his here as kid flash so doesint make to much sense. And the advertising shows new 52 black wally west, so not sure which wally west to hunt for, any thoughts?

      1. Not a whole lot makes sense right now there’s probably a few gems out there no one has thought of yet

  4. Glad I checked back. Bought a variant #1 last night when I first saw the story. Was able to get a #4 this morning on Amazon for $6.

      1. No worries…. Bought the 1 in 25 variant of #1 for $5.50. I’ll prob pick up issue 2 and 3 at my local comic shop to have the set after the #1 & 2 two arrive. Why not…If it turns out to be a big deal with where DC is headed it will be nice to have.

        1. It’s a Paul Pope variant. If you get it in and do not want it I will buy it off you. I love Pope and didn’t think to get this variant a long time ago.

      2. No worries Anthony. I’m still glad I got it. A 1:25 variant for $5 and change of anything that is gaining interest can’t be a bad thing. Also, decided to go to one of my lcs to get issue 2 and 3 turns out all he had in the bins was # 3 and #4 combo pack at cover price. So, just need issue 2 and I’m set. Could turn out o be a very interesting series. Truth be told I haven’t read anything Watchmen since the series first came out when I was in high school but with everything now rumored it is time to get reacquainted.

    1. i’m hearing some people saying to grab it…grab any Watchmen you can highest grade possible. Not sure I can afford all this speculating so close to Rebirth release.

  5. So i thought number 4 was the one to get? But everyone here seems like there picking up number 1 also. Just the variants? What about the combo packs?

    1. When I put the story up last night I had it as #1 as that is what seemed to be moving the most. Also didn’t have my glasses on when I read the original story. But yes #4 is where the part in question happens. But people are buying 1&4. Combo packs are shorter printed than then the regular cover

      1. If Dr. Manhattan is going to play a big role in the DC Universe (until the next re-boot) I would think any first appearance or important appearance will be good to have.

  6. DiDio, Lee and Johns trying to get under Alan Moore’s skin more? What next, Guy Fawkes in the DCU? This gimmick with incorporating The Watchmen into the DCU will tarnish their legacy and brand. Curious as to what Dave Gibbons thinks of this as Alan Moore probably won’t comment? Am happy and looking forward to the original JSA.

  7. Other than watchman manhattan 4 is watchman. 12 the other manhattan photo originally shown on bleeding cool

      1. So his first app is before watchmen dr man issue 1? So if there not variant or combo pack are the regular issue 1 and 4 worth getting still?

        1. Really any of them. The combo packs are rarer as are the variants but if people are looking for them any of them are ok.

    1. Which ones? Regular copies also or just varitants and combo packs?
I bet u flashpoint is going to see some movement also so it has to do with this whole story line

      1. I would have to say right now for issue #1 the combo or the variants. For issue # 4 any version; regular, combo or variant. Unless the rumors/spoilers are wrong or off #4 is looking to be the big winner.

    2. I get hundreds of comic messages from all over the Internet beamed directly to my phone. My inbox is always full of chatter. Ain’t it all grand. (Yet I still miss out on getting good books and stuff)

      1. Of course that’s all grand! As for missing books? Who can keep up 100%. Seems for every good grab a make I lose out on three others…especially with all the movie and TV announcements the past few years. So very hard to keep up!

      1. What about the 2nd printing of watchmen 1 is that good to grab also? Or does it have to be the first print?

      2. So watchmen 1 is worth getting because its the first issue of watchmen not so much because its the fist app cause thats dc spotlight, awesome thanks! Hooe the 2nd print of watchmen 1 is still a good pick up?

      1. There is a preview in DC Spotlight #1 that came before Watchmen #1.. That one has been a bit pricey for a while. Will probably move up even more now that the Watchmen are moving into DC continuity.

    1. What seems to be going on in Dr. Manhattan #4 looks as though it is going to resonate along all of DC continuity for a long time to come. Of course these rumors/spoilers have to be confirmed first (have they?) but everything is pointing to that direction. But, yeah the original Watchmen series will probably be getting a lot more attention from here on out.

    2. Some of us have been picking the originals up for years. It’s a perennial story that stays in print in TPB form that people will also want the floppies of. I always grab original copies when I see them.

  8. I would think the original Watchmen Series #1-12, Watchmen TPB 1st printing, DC Spotlight would be the ones worth getting. This Before Watchmen Dr. Manhattan #4 could end up being like Batman Superman #32 where no one is sure. Early JLA-JSA annual team ups in JLA (volume one) and All Star Comics #58-74 could be ones to keep an eye on.

    1. Yeah, paying the prices people are asking for DM #4 right now is a bit risky until all the speculation comes to fruition. I picked up two for a grand total of $14 when shipping for the online purchase is included. Low risk is fine if it doesn’t pan out but I would hate to pay $40 plus shipping for the standard cover and it turns out to be nothing when all is said and done. I would say for anyone who missed out on getting DM #4 cheap, hold off and maybe go for, like Mark said, some of the original watchmen books mentioned above. Right now you can still get a NM Watchmen #1 for roughly the same price as what some are asking for DM #4.

      1. Ya im kinda torn about what to keep and what to sell. You think maybe I should sell the before watchmen 1 and 4 and instead keep the original Watchmen issue 1?

      1. Unless a reprint has a ridiculously low print run I would stick with first releases unless you are a completionist. I don’t know the print run on the Watchmen #1 second print but I don’t think they are all that rare.

  9. As far as the second printing of Watchmen goes are you talking about the DC Millennium Edition, After Watchmen Edition or Vertigo Essentials? It would be worth it to pick it up on the cheap now. Keep an eye out for the DC Millennium Edition and After Watchmen Edition of Preacher #1 after the show airs on Sunday. Those books may be harder to find.

    1. You think I should Sell my Before Watchmen 1 and 4 on ebay and instead hang on to Watchmen issue 1 first print more for long term?

  10. Sold 2 Watchmen 4 in 3 minutes for $33 each…they’re certainly hot, people asking quite a bit for the 1:25 so those seem to be sitting.

    1. So far I scooped up Before Watchmen Dr Manhattan 1 and 4 for $4 each, Also was lucky enough to find a First Print Watchmen Isusse 1 NM for $29.99. I think im gonna hang on to all 3 cause Watchmen joining the DC Universe is huge, these could be classics. Temping to sell them for $33 and make a quick profit but long term might be legit

      1. always a bit of a risk to hold on to something that is hot right now just in case things don’t pan out in the long run, especially when there are still unknowns surrounding it. But, you bought at great prices and that brings the risk down a bunch. Good idea holding on to them. Odds are they will be good issues to have down the line.

    1. Ha! Fun read David! All I have to say is if DC didn’t one up Marvel with insane cash grabs who would? Also, I did my time in Hollywood and the first line of the last statement by Executive “B” is how just about every “important” meeting ends in that city!…Hmmm, maybe if this rebirth has three jokers we can get tons of Lois Lanes running around as Supergirl, Batmanwoman, green lantern, Red tool! You name it!

      1. Im kinda torn about what to keep and what to sell. You think maybe I should sell the before watchmen 1 and 4 and instead keep the original Watchmen issue 1? What u think?

        1. If you have multiple copies now is the time to start selling a few. It’s impossible to know exactly when the right time to sell is but if your short term goal is profit go for it. If your long term goal is collecting keep them.

      1. Just got one copy each, but I guess I was wondering if the original watcmen 1 was a safer bet to keep and Instead, sell before watchmen 1 and 4 since those are the more of the unkown books, what u think?

  11. i’d say the original watchmen 1 would always be a safer bet…I already sold my before watchmen 4 for a nice profit.

      1. Only one I would hold right now is the original Watchmen 1 if u can find it for a good price, I got one for 29.99 pretty good condition

    1. That’s a very good price! You could probably undersell everyone out there right now and still make six or seven times your money. If the spec holds true it could be worth more in the long run, but with the profit you would make now I doubt you would have much sellers remorse. Large or small as long as you make a profit you are always ahead of the game!

      1. Im seeing a lot of dc spotlight 1 got for $140, whats the street value on this comic? Is that a good price or over buying?

        1. It is past my comfort level for an ad for Watchmen (also Dark Knight if I remember correctly.) but completists and collectors who want all appearances go for it. I do not like to pay full price (eBay prices especially) so it is too high for me.

  12. Just out of curiosity if the regular cover of DM #4 is selling between $30 of $40 and the 1 in 25 is realizing sales of up to $85 what does anyone think the Combo #4 would be worth right now? I still can’t find any for sale anywhere and if the price is at a good point might be tempted to put mine up. On the fence right now.

    1. Never-mind, I see one up on Ebay for $79 and I guess a couple sold fairly quick earlier today for just under $40. I really should check “before” I post a question I will answer myself… Oh well.

  13. @jay I don’t see it meaning anything….it’s not like he said Watchmen 4 doesn’t mean what you thought it meant or that watchmen 1 has nothing to do with Rebirth. He was just spouting off his thoughts.

  14. the tag line at the end in Rebirth 1 ‘nothing ends andrian, nothing ever ends’ is in Watchmen 12 if anyone cares to speculate that direction.

    1. Okay cool, and someone said the origin of Dr.Manhattan is issue 3 or issue 4 of the original series?
