Aspen Comics Ups Harley Quinn Print Run In Cash Grab

Didn’t see this one coming. Aspen sent out an email today saying they are upping the print run on all three variants making the Turner Color variant one of the highest printed variants for the book.
Instead of doing a second printing like they have on other books, Aspen has decided to go back to the money well, I mean printing press to release a ton more variants. Obviously for aulteusitic purposes as the email suggests.
Wonder how many eBay preorders will get canceled now? Need to watch how the market reacts to a print run of 9,000 Color, 6,000 Black and White, and 2,500 Puddin covers.

  1. wonder what goobers were begging them to increase the print run….grabbing my life preserver and jumping off the USS Aspen before it sinks.

    1. You canceling? I will not buy another Aspen variant again. Calling them tomorrow to talk about canceling my order. I ordered a copy that was 3000/2000/1000 not 9000/6000/2500. That is a bait and switch unless the covers will be a second print with a different color.

      1. I never ordered the pudding pack…just saying i’m not buying future comics from them. I bought a couple of the Batman 1 variants and that was it.

  2. After they get a butt-load of cancels, they’re not going to need the extra copies they’re having printed. Lol!
Aspen can never be trusted again. Period.
They even said the 2nd print of Batman #1 was going to be 1k and then moved it up to 2k I believe.

  3. I’m hearing no refunds after 24 hours off ordering…that’s a bunch of B.S…..they just opened up a major can of worms for themselves…

    1. My Amex will be disputed due to the fact I ordered the version that was 3000/2000/1000 and not 9000/6000/2500. It’s a bait and switch. They are not sending me what I ordered.

  4. Wow that’s crazy. I wanted the color one for the wife’s PC since it was limited and a nice cover on top of that. Now that they have done this, I don’t even want it any more. Places like that is the reason I stopped doing business with one of the LCS here. That’s just shitty business.

  5. Not that this effects me, since i HATE the current Harley Quinn (and Deadpool).. i just wanted to chime in anyway.. lol
This is pretty underhanded, if I had ordered any under the pretense of them being limited to 3000/2000/1000 and then they upped that to 9000/6000/2500, I’d be pretty pissed.. and would try to cancel or dispute if it was a credit card order.
Plus with 60+ covers for this issue, I’m hoping people get some Harley burn out and maybe we can stop seeing her on everydamnthing.. with the added benefit of maybe, just maybe some of the people commissioning these variants backing off.

      1. They bumped it up slightly from the initial 3k / 1500 initial estimate

Legacy Comics and Cards in Glendale, CA: North America: 3250 color / 2300 copic
Limited Edition Comix in the U.K.: Europe: 1850 color / 1050 copic
Comic Odyssey in Philippines: Asia: 800 color / 450 copic
Comics Mexico in Mexico City: Mexico: 700 color / 200 copic
We are not disclosing the print run of the Inked Line Art variant which has the smallest print run of the 3 variants and is extremely limited. Our final print run numbers have been turned in for these 3 variant covers and cannot be changed.

      2. Yeah, that was a slight bump, but by doubling your run #’s doesn’t that mean the price should come down? Aspen certainly hasn’t said they’re entertaining that idea.

  6. This is one more thing that makes me not want to deal with them . Between the horrible website that even after upgrades can’t handle traffic and not replying to any customer service emails and then hearing from dealers that before the books even go on sale that they have an inside ” friend ” there hooking them up with up to 10 sets of covers ( although the local dealer said he wasn’t allowed to get the puddin set cover ) .

  7. I hope everyone who initially ordered find out the change in numbers so they can cancel their orders or at least be able to make an informed decision for if they want to keep them. I don’t see any after market value on these at all. The hats off image totally socks anyway. The only reason people were buying them was designed to limited print. This was not a good idea.

  8. Just checked their website this morning and there’s a limit of 2 sets per order, not 1 like they mentioned in their letter.
Wow, they really misjudged their market. Maybe all those people complaining were resellers 🙂
I’m sure their profit margins will be higher with this print run but I do wonder what kind of impact this will have on them down the road.
