A look ahead to Wednesday: Two to watch for

Here are two books that are coming out this Wednesday to keep on your radar. Both have sold out covers days in advance of Wednesday’s release:
First up is Snotgirl #1. The new Image series sold out at Diamond and is already sold out on a couple of online retailers. There are two regular covers and a SDCC Variant. Snotgirl first appeared in Image Plus 1 and could be worth the $1.99 pickup if the series takes off.
The second book of note for this week is Betty and Veronica #1 Regular Adam Hughes coverBetty and Veronica #1 Regular Adam Hughes cover. There are 25 covers for the book, but seems as everyone wants the regular Adam Hughes cover as it sold out at Diamond early and is also sold out on some online retailer sites. There is also a pretty sweet Adam Hughes SDCC variant for this one. Hughes first drew The ladies on Betty and Veronica #275.

  1. I AM ALL ONBOARD WITH ONCE OUR LAND AS WELL.. I’M SHOUTING CAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS, SEEMED LIKE THE LOGICAL THING TO DO. 🙂

    1. I’LL BE LOOKING FOR BOTH THESE BOOKS ON WEDNESDAY AS WELL. MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ONCE OUR LAND THOUGH. MY SHOPS AREN’T BIG ON SMALL PRESS BOOKS.

  2. Be looking for the Adam Hughes for sure. Still have some 275 I’ve been holding on to. Might list then to see where they go.

  3. Need to blow the dust off the stack of Killbox#1 in the corner of my room before I want to invest in more then one copy of a small press book. I do like Court of the Dead #1 by Heavy Metal this week. If you collect Sideshow Premium Format statues you already have probably heard of the different Court of the Dead characters they are pretty cool looking. Court of the Dead is a series of characters created by Sideshow toys of some pretty grotesque horror statues and limited art prints that now they are debuting in comics. May have already a fan base looking to buy these that could push a small print book like this.

    1. There was a SDCC 2015 book released that was also released at NYCC. They were giving them away for free, and me being me, kept going back and forth past them over the weekend and picking up copies. I was selling them for $5 plus shipping and did well with them. Should have asked the bored looking woman who was handing them out if I could just grab the whole stack. Goes to show; convention freebies can turn into sales gold. Lol.

  4. I bought into the Hughes #275 and got burned.. so I’m gonna pass on that one. Good luck to those that try to flip these, I don’t think it’s going to be a huge flip if any.

      1. Not including CGC graded ones.. last sales were on June 28th.. with a bunch still available, meh. I think at the time I tried to sell mine, even starting at cover price bidding, no nibbles. I think mine eventually made their way to Half Price Books.. so I got BURNED Tony.. more BURNED than my recent sunburn at the beach last week! 😛
