Mel V.'s Variant Picks of the Week for 8/3/16

What’s up CHU? Mel V. back with another  great week of variant covers for your viewing pleasure.
Still kicking myself for missing That Howard The Duck Variant, but my main man man Tony had my back and picked up on it. Also, I was happy to get my hands on that Tommy Glow in the Dark variant as that book is a instant Houdini. Some pretty decent covers this week. I think that Harley has slow burn potential because that sure is a beauty.

Civil War II Kingpin #2 Cover B Variant Dustin Nguyen Cover – Kingpin in my opinion started off great, and this Nguyen cover caught my eye. I like how Kingpin stands out overlooking the city with Daredevil lurking in the background

Evil Ernie Godeater #1 Cover E Incentive Ben Templesmith Virgin Art Cover – If you were a comic fan in the 90’s then ya gotta have love for Evil Ernie. Hes back in yet another series with a pretty good Ben Templesmith cover that looks like a winner for your PC

Harley Quinn Vol 3 #1 Cover D Variant Bill Sienkiewicz Cover – On my last count there were about 67 billion Harley Quinn Variants for #1 and most over them don’t look as good as this one by Blll Sienkiewicz. T-SHIRT worthy if your significant other is a fan of Harley, I think this one has legs in the long run

Walking Dead #157 Cover B Arthur Adams – I am a fan of Art Adams and his style, looking forward to seeing the final art, the detail is amazing in his work. I could of swore these were connecting covers for the Whisper War, but only way to tell is when the rest of the images leak out.

  1. Adams’s variant is supposed to be connecting with the next 5 issues! It’s looking really good.
The 4th print of DC Universe Rebirth #1 looks like a winner!

Notice the Harley #1s and the difference in ordered stock this store has in A and B covers.
This is a picture of Legacy comics home of the Artgerm variant before opening. Have a feeling the B covers may be harder to find

    1. Shaking my head at myself. Ended up with both covers of the regular Harley Quinn all three Aspen, all three Artgerm, both comicxposure, and the Third Eye variant. Only the Aspen not in hand.

  3. This week was “meh” for me, but oh boy next week is going to be HUGE! There are some great covers coming. All-Star Batman #1 (Jock), Deathstroke Rebirth #1 (Platt), Detective Comics #938 (Albuquerque), Superwoman #1 (Dodson), Black Panther #5 (Ribic), Black Panther #5 (Hildebrandt), and Spider-Man Deadpool #8 (Moore Black Panther Cover) just to name a few. The great thing is that most of those are regular A/B splits so they won’t break the bank to acquire!
