  1. According to comichron’s #’s the first issue was under 10k. Not sure what the # is on #2 or what all those #1 reprints will be, but listening to you guys I’d assume #2 would be less? This reprint might even be harder to find.
I’m not blown away by this series, and #2 was weird with the time jumps. Feels like a lot of the story which would be interesting to see is getting by-passed.

    1. The way it works is the 2nd issue has to be ordered before the first issue sells. So sales numbers in store are not available for the first issue to base your order upon. With that, there is also a natural drop off between first and second issues since people will pick up the first issue and not bother with the second. Also stores tend to order higher on first issues as a way to try to get readers on a book.

      1. I’ve heard you guys say that a few times about different books from issue #1 to #2. I wouldn’t think Animosity #2 would be significantly less, but interesting that a hot books first couple of issues could both be under 10k printed. I got shorted on my sub for #2. They’re claiming they’ll fill by 10/5 but those are going to be 2nd prints I think.
I know there was also some dust up over store variants of #1 being “second prints” and not really first prints but I never saw that argument in its entirety.

        1. I have a couple of issue #2. I just picked up some first prints today. Animosity #2 has to be ordered before issue 1 was out. It is not on Diamond’s FOC I believe. So stores probably had no clue the book was going to hit as hard as it did. So yes, great potential for the book to be under ordered.

    2. Spoilers ahead so please skip this comment if you haven’t read Animosity #2.
I do agree that the last couple of pages had a weird time jump. We see the dog beat to unconsciousness and then see the little girl and the dog leaving the under ground bunker with references to the parents being dead. I think we will get flashbacks to explain the time in between though.

      1. I thought the time jumps fit in with the theme of the issue, which was dealing with the sudden onset of consciousness. The animals are thrust into the present with only vague memories and understandings of events that happened previously. The reader feels that on the last page.

      2. I think it’s a good book. I just think it’s odd to skip so much. I figured there will be flashbacks too.
        *******SPOILER ALERT*******
Am I the only one who thought the showdown with the tiger at the end of issue #1 felt rushed and a bit anti-climatic? Then we get to #2 and you got moose with guns, sniper squirrels (if I remember right) and a completely different man/animal dynamic and you’re left wondering what the hell happened in between?

Hopefully #3 will start to really develop where this is going, with a minimum on flashbacks. I hate those Walking Dead episodes where you’re ready for some action because of last week’s cliffhanger and they spend an hour doing a character piece.

  2. My order of #2 first print is still “processing” with Forbidden Planet, I hope they actually have the copies in. I ordered some 3rd prints and a 4th print of #1 at same time, so maybe will all be fulfilled together…
