John Tyler Christopher Announces Two New Variants

JTC is continuing his exclusive variant runs with two new variants. One action figure and one negative space variant. Check them out.
First up is the Kylo Renn action figure variant, which is pretty cool. He is done up in the old style Star Wars Figure style, the five points of articulation figures that we grew up with and have become the fad for action figure variants.

The second is a negative space variant for Champions #1 featuring Ms. Marvel. People often forget JTC is a great artist outside the action figure realm.

Both will be available for preorder on 9/28. Here are the details right from JTC’s site
– Sale starts at 6PM EST on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
– You are welcome to order as many books as you want (while supplies last).
– Books arrive to our house on the release dates.
– Order fulfillment and shipment will begin once we receive KYLO REN. We will not offer split shipping at this time.
– Graded books will be shipped separately. Please see our FAQ page regarding graded book procedures.
– Due to conflicting travel schedules, our goal is to have all orders out by Friday October 28th. We are still a small team and require more time than the average store to ship out hundreds of orders, so we thank you for your patience and understanding.
– Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.
– If you have not received tracking by October 28th, please send an email to info@johntylerchristopher.com.
– Any other questions can most likely be answered on our FAQ page. If not, send us a quick email and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.

  1. Action figure variants are not for me.
But that Ms. Marvel variant for champions is all kinds of awesome! I might get in on that one.

      1. I am a cursed man. Why must my Star Wars obsession be so completist? I’m gonna hate issue 5 as much as issue 1, 2, and 3. The whole time I’m thinking “why am I not just watching this?”

  2. Done with variants! Had 2 more vendors not send variants or cancel orders that were preordered the minute they became available today. In the last 3 months ive had 8 different vendors out of the last 15 sets of variants I’ve ordered that haven’t lived up to their preorder and held my money for weeks, months before issuing me a refund with no explanation, or I have to open PayPal cases over no books received, no contact back and no shipping updates. It’s ridiculous all these books sell on eBay for more then I paid, and with the amount of vendors that have pulled this with me recently it leads me to believe they are cancelling or not shipping orders on popular variants so they can privately sell them on eBay for more. Like I said this is 8 different vendors, I need to know where to complain to when it comes to Marvel and DC giving out store exclusive variant covers because some of these vendors should not be able to continue to make store exclusives if they can’t honor their own preorders or worst yet are committing fraud at mine, and yours, and all comic book collectors expense.

    1. I got damaged books from ComicXposure.. zero replies after a week. Mentioned I write for CHU from time to time, got a reply a day later saying he’s sending replacement with return label. 2 weeks pass, nothing, no replies on status, tracking, etc. Open dispute with Paypal, still no response so they rule in my favor. I get my money back, I got damaged books.. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM COMICXPOSURE EVER AGAIN!!! Worst Customer Service EVER! At least mycomicshop responds in reasonable amount of time.
Never order from ComicXposure.. just get your variants by winning Tony’s contests.. 😉
Sorry Tony, remove my comment if you want and if you think it’s out of line but I use to defend them, I can no longer defend them and their horrible customer service tactics.

        1. Sounds familiar. I’m done with ComicXposure. They’ve been added to the can list like MyComicShop. I don’t have time to waste playing games if they can’t simply provide a little bit of customer service.

      1. Done with comicxposure as well. Put an order with them almost 2 months ago. Never received a shipping notice. I sent multiple emails asking for status updates. No response. Finally they answered weeks later saying they were behind schedule fulfilling orders (with no apology). Weeks pass and I assume I’ve been scammed. Out of the blue yesterday I get a shipping notice. Can’t say my hopes are high as to what will show up. What I don’t understand is if they’re that behind filling orders than why do they keep on coming out with their own variants. Getting their shit straight first should be the priority.

      2. I posted plenty of warnings about ComicXposure in past comments on this page. They were content to keep my money & never send anything, until I filed a case with the Better Business Bureau. Even then, it took another 3 months to get all of the books they owed me from past orders. Altogether, the entire process was almost a Year. If you place an order with ComicXposure, you are giving them your money and hoping that *someday* you will eventually finally get your books. I honestly cannot believe they are still in business with how much ill will they’ve spread, and the shady business practices they utilize.
Looks like I am still the Only Person to actually file a report with the BBB. Anyone else who has said they have, or were going to, has not followed through. This is another part of the problem. People can b*tch on the internet all they want, but that doesn’t count as proper documentation to draw attention to bad business ethics. If you click on the complaint here, it shows you the majority of my case (there was a space limit & BBB keeps all further responses/info private):

        1. A year is too long. That’s why I gave them a few weeks to fix my issue, then I just let the credit/paypal companies do their job in getting my money back, which they did.

        2. Oh and thanks for the link, I’m filling out a BBB complaint as well. As should others. Mine was settled (due to lack of response on their part, pretty sad, it’s what they’re good at apparently) but at least the info gets filed.

      1. Yes, sends out shipping info, tracking and yo shit makes it in good condition as he packages pretty well in my experience.

  3. I mostly remember John Tyler Christopher from his run on Witchblade. That Ms. Marvel cover reminds me of his Sara Pezzini. I do hope they bring Witchblade back someday. It’s odd seeing Top Cow without their flagship title in-print. It’s a double-edged sword, though, because as a long-time fan, I was happy that Sara finally got a happy ending, and I don’t want them to pull her right back in; so whoever becomes the new bearer of the Witchblade would need to be someone equally compelling to succeed her.

  4. JTC and his spouse do a good job processing and getting the raw books out, but don’t order the graded version, as 9.6 or better means 9.6. And a 9.6 modern is not acceptable.

  5. JTC needs to get a better server provider for his site. It’s been like 15 minutes and counting to purchase 1 comic during his Pre-Sale for previous buyers. That server is going to explode during the 6pm general public sale.
