TINKERS OF THE WASTELAND #1

Manufacturer/Publisher: Scout Comics   (Release Date: 6/28/2017*)

Description
(W/A/CA) Raul Trevino
Meteorites fell, razing entire cities, reducing civilization to rubble and leaving behind little more than a desolate wasteland. In these badlands, danger is everywhere, and survival is always uncertain, but somewhat less uncertain if you can get your hands on some chickens. Chickens, though, are scarce: they have been voraciously snatched up by a gang lead by a fierce drag queen, who has the impossible task of hoarding all chickens. Also struggling to survive in this post-apocalyptic world is a group of mildly deranged orphans, the Tinkers, who happen upon a mysterious and seemingly indecipherable map. The map gives the location of a secret bunker, one of almost mythical status among the tribes of the Wasteland.
Item #: 1632707  • Diamond code: APR171934  •  UPC: 85999000242200111

Why I Like It : Scout has made some seriously good books, and they do a great job of marketing to their select audience. Based on the description this sounds like it’s going to be a fun ride

BABYTEETH #1 CVR A GARRY BROWN (MR)

Manufacturer/Publisher: After-Shock Comics   (Release Date: 6/14/2017*)
Description
(W) Donny Cates (A/CA) Garry Brown
NEW SERIES! Sadie Ritter is sixteen years old, nine months pregnant, and scared out of her sweet nerdy mind. Having a baby that young is tough, but with the support of her loving family behind her, everything should be okay. OH YEAH, and also her baby is the antichrist and it’s going to break open the barriers between the earthly and demonic planes and unleash eternal suffering to all of humankind. Other than that, though…should be fine. From the writer of Buzzkill, Paybacks, Redneck and the break-out hit God Country comes a pulse-pounding new series with art from THE REVISIONIST’s Garry Brown!
Item #: 1632398  • Diamond code: APR171222  •  UPC: 75469798937600111

Why I like It: Very Very Excited for this title, I, like Anthony, love horror comics and I loved movies like the Omen and Rosemary Baby. People online are already buzzing about this book. I think it will do well as a read, and an aftermarket success. Order early, don’t be left out come 6/14

Jimmys Bastards #1

Manufacturer/Publisher: After-Shock Comics   (Release Date: 6/7/2017*)

Description
(W) Garth Ennis (A) Russell Braun (CA) Dave Johnson
NEW SERIES! Jimmy Regent, Britain’s number one super-spy, has got it all: intrigue, adventure, a license to shoot whoever he likes and beautiful women falling at his feet. He also has a new partner who isn’t quite as impressed by Jimmy as all other women appear to be. Now, there’s a price to pay for Jimmy’s multiple romantic conquests – the results of which are about to come calling in the worst possible way… From the creator and writer of Preacher and The Boys comes the brand-new series that HAD to be told at AfterShock Comics.
Item #: 1632534  • Diamond code: APR171220  •  UPC: 75469798934500111

Why I like it: Garth Ennis is a master at his craft. If any of Afteshock’s books have a chance to make into a media type deal, I’m thinking this and Baby Teeth, should be at the top of the list.

BEAUTIFUL CANVAS #1

Manufacturer/Publisher: Black Mask Comics   (Release Date: 6/28/2017*)

Description
(W) Ryan Lindsay (A) Sami Kivela (CA) Christian Ward
Lon Eisley is a hitwoman hired to kill a small child a few days after discovering her girlfriend pregnant. In a bold declaration of uncertainty, she saves the boy and hits the road, despire the fact her boss clearly wanted him dead for a reason. This warped crime dystopia delves into the emotional dichotomy of creator/destroyer as Lon tries to connect the two very different worlds she now inhabits. From Sami Kivela (Chum) & Ryan K Lindsay (Negative Space, DC Writers Workshop) comes a gonzo tale of personal discovery, animal/hybrid hit troupes, and reactive pyrokinesis.
Item #: 1632401  • Diamond code: APR171371  •  UPC: 045778026753

Why I Like it: I’m Interested in seeing how this story plays out. It should hold strong for at least a couple of issues, lets see how it goes from there. I think it will do well
