  1. Brian Soucie says:

    Flash 22 and that’s it… Still looking for a TMNT 1 2nd print šŸ˜‰

  2. John F. says:

    Harley Quinn #20 Cho variant
I’ll keep an eye for that God Country Color and B&W, too

  3. Brennan says:

Hope everyone has had a good week. I’ve been super busy with the move and the wedding rapidly approaching. I looked at, no joke, over 900 end tables this week. Ugh! Apparently I’m supposed to have an opinion on that sort of thing.
Anywhoo, here are my grabs this week:
    Batman
    Birthright
    Deadpool v punisher
    Green lanterns
    Invincible
    Justice league
    Nightwing
    Royals
    Secret empire
    Spread
    Star wars
    Superman
    Flash – lenticular
    Mighty Thor
    Wild storm
Zombie tramp – both versions of the rodrix cover, normal and risque

Shoot, it’s a bigger week than I thought. I’ll probably hear about this one.

    • OC_Guy says:

Congrats on the wedding!…. Three years of being married I was out today looking at dressers…like I’m supposed to have an opinion on those, so I hear ya! It never ends, but that’s part of the fun! Enjoy!

      • Brennan says:

Lol I’ve tried to explain that my whole life I’ve never had a say in decor or furniture except for where I live now, and that’s just a mismatched hodgepodge of things I’ve gathered over the years. So if she wants that style I’m good, otherwise leave me alone!!!

    • So I’m not the only one who gets a talking to when they spend too much at the comic shop? Welcome to married life lol.

  4. A. King says:

I’m not even sure what I’m going to pick up tomorrow. I know I pre-ordered 2 of the God Country b/w, and I did find a copy of Medisin #1b over the weekend.

  5. Shines says:

This week is Flash ( all covers- Jay Garrick!), Cho Harley, & God Country.

    Pickups:
At a little con this past weekend, in the fifty cent boxes I found the 2nd print variants to Justice #2, 4, & 5 by Alex Ross. And today, visiting an out of town shop, in a clearance box of $3.00 variants I found Captain Marvel #14 1:20 cosmic variant.

  6. Clark Gerdes says:

Not sure what else besides god country, supersons, royal city #3, and flash 22 this week. I went to Ontario comic con last week and it was a really good crowd. I was able to find Gamora’s 1st appearance Strange Tales #180 in great shape and had Jim Starlin sign it. Totally stoked.

  7. Alana says:

Tonight’s episode of the Flash is a prime example of why the Flash movie is having problems, no way a 2hr flick can compete with the fully developed Flash television series that’s been so well done and covered so much of the Flash. Trying to copy the success of the beloved breakout television show with a movie with a different actor as Barry going to be a hard sell to fans of the show.

    • Anthony says:

Well said. It makes no sense what they are trying to do. In fact, it is insulting to the tv actor they cast another person as flash in Justice League.

      • Jonathan hoffman says:

Hollywood is a fickle mistress lol. Contractual obligations/limitations, who owns the rights to this and that and who’s viewed as a capable “lead” on the big screen VS T.V. all play a factor. But are we really expecting the actor from Supergirl to stand next to the current cast of the justice league if her character ever makes it into a movie?

      • JayClue says:

Yes. That would be awesome. The difference between film and tv isn’t the actors. It’s the budget. I’m sure whatever actress plays Supergirl would be just fine next to the current justice league line up. Why wouldn’t we expect that?

      • Brennan says:

The TV actor is better, the TV outfit is better, the lighter tone of the show will be better, etc..
This is why the dcu is dead before it even starts.

      • Jonathan hoffman says:

We wouldn’t expect that because, as we sit here and discuss this, we keep referring to the actress as “her” because we don’t even know her name. She’s a “C” tier WB tv actress and wold never be considered for the role of supergirl on the silver screen. That’s just how things work. If people actually watched that show like they do TWD or Game of Thrones then maybe, but when’s the last time sometime someone said “Yo! You see Supergirl last night?!” Lol

      • Brennan says:

Jonathan, we say her because it’s easier to type out than Melissa Benoist.
And I bet you’d like her more if you’d seen her leaked fappening pics!

      • Anthony says:

        Is that a google-able term?

      • Anthony says:

        Oops. Just found them.

      • agentpoyo says:

Brennan, liking Melissa Benoist naked and liking her acting are two totally different things though.. it’s kind of like saying.. I love my wife when she’s not talking, she’s the most beautiful person in the room.. oh snap, now she’s talking, I hate her. šŸ˜‰

      • Anthony says:

        Story of my life.

      • agentpoyo says:

I looked up those pics myself of Supergirl.. today is now going down as a good day! šŸ™‚

      • Anthony says:

She has some secret superpowers that are not shown on tv.

      • agentpoyo says:

Oh and for the record, my wife says I’m perfect too.. until I open my mouth. Which I agree though, I’m a real asshole unless I’m just nodding and smiling quietly. šŸ™‚

      • Brennan says:

Hahaha you are correct poyo, I was really just looking for a non-pervy way to let you know that those pics are out there!

      • Brennan says:

Also poyo, I’ve dated girls in the past where I’ve found myself in that exact scenario. It was all good, until she opened her mouth to speak.

      • Jonathan hoffman says:

Lmao “The Fappening”? With Marky Mark??
I’m not trying to bash her acting, just saying there’s little to no chance of her playing a Supergirl role in a movie. If they did that then the series and movie would instantly become cannon. That could lead to problems if the story lines don’t match up, Fanboys would freak, riots would ensue!
Thanks for the heads up on her secondary career!

      • JayClue says:

I was saying ‘her’ because I didn’t know her name. Lol. But i honestly don’t know the names of the actors who play movie flash and movie cyborg. And the only reason I know Gadot and the Superman guy (I forget his name right now) is because they are Superman and WW. I didn’t know who they were before. Cavil! Just remembered. The majority of today’s Hollywood actors are not special, so, I believe that tv Supergirl would be fine in a movie role of the same character.

      • A. King says:

If I were the TV Flash and they didn’t cast me in the movie, I would be like I’m gone. He could probably just do con’s and make a pretty good living.

      • Brennan says:

        A. King – that’s easy to say but hard to do. Beyond having a contract, grant may actually want to work in the industry again. You screw off of a major show like that, you’re probably not going to get hired again.
I’m also fairly certain that the salary for the show is far greater than the money made at conventions.
There’s also far less travel involved when shooting the show.
Besides, the shows a hit and the movies will not be. This is far better for his brand.

  8. JCH says:

Light week for me … Spawn, God Country and Flash. Was able to snag #1 Gold Foil variants for Extremity, Curse Words, Rose and Youngblood and at great prices… nice little find, but no luck finding Spawn variants for God Country in my area… pretty much limited to one LCS now.

  9. Eric R says:

I thought it would be a light week, but when I hit the shops I came home with a bunch of stuff!

    Pickup this week:
Deadpool OGN with Liefield artwork (welcome back 90’s)
God Country #5 (all 4 covers)-only one store had the Spawn variants and they only had 1 of each
Harley Quinn (Cho variant-awesome artwork again!)
Secret Empire #2 (Campbell variant-was going to flip but now I think I might try for the whole series)
Zombie Tramp #5 (Carrie Fisher tribute? covers)
    Eclipse #7

    Happy Hunting everyone!

  10. schweizerdavid says:

  17. JayClue says:

My X-Men Gold #1 JSC exclusives came in the mail today! And only 2+ months after the book was released. I am not a huge fan of JSCs artwork, but preordered these books from his website because I liked the retro cover. This is the 2nd time ive bought directly from his store, and this is second time Ive been disappointed. I bought a signed Josie and the Pussycats last year that arrived with a huge crease in the middle of the spine, when I contacted them I was ignored. This time they ship the books out 6-7 weeks after the book was released. F@ck that guy, never again. My other pick ups this week were:
    LCS
Flash #22, lenticular and cover c
    X-Men Gold #4
    Spawn #1 25th, McFarlane cover
Secret Empire #2, Hydra Hero Variant (I really like Sorrentinos work)
    Harley #20, A x1, B x4
Generation X #1, reg and corner box
    Star Wars #31, reg x1, 40th x2
    God Country #5 A, B & B&W Spawn x2
    Batman #23
    Animosity #7
    Eleanor and the Egret #2

    Mail:

What happens whenI go to the comic store on Thursday instead of Wednesday:
Britannia: We Who Are About To Die #2, sold out
    God Country #5, sold out
    Flash #22(lenticular cover) sold out

    What I found:
Bombshells #27. Some curiosity over this regular cover.
Eleanor and the Egret #2. There was some hype over first issue, so maybe..
    Flash #22(B cover)
Pestilence #1(reg cover) for $8, not too bad for a hot book.
    Rose #2(B cover)
    Royal City #3
    Secret Empire #2(Andrea Sorrentino cover)
Star Trek The Next Generation: Mirror Broken #1(reg cover)
    Star Wars #31(reg cover)

  19. Birdman says:

That is the cover I did buy. I am hoping it is the 1st appearance of Hydra/Hybrid Spidey Ock whose popularity surpasses Venom. Maybe?
