Reborn Coming to Netflix, Sandra Bullock Producing

Sandra Bullock, star of The recently buzz worthy Netflix movie Bird Box, isn’t done with Netflix yet. She will be producing Reborn, the Mark Millar mini series for the streaming Network according to Deadline.com

Reborn #1 is the first appearance for the character and concepts. The Reborn #1 NYCC could be a good grab and can be found reasonably priced still.

From Deadline.com:

The Lego Batman Movie filmmaker Chris McKay is to direct Millarworld comic book adaptation Reborn for Netflix, Sandra Bullock and It producer Vertigo Entertainment.

The sci-fi fantasy comic series by Mark Millar and Greg Capullo tells the story of an eighty year-old woman, Bonnie Black, who dies in a Manhattan hospital only to find herself reborn in the prime of life in the afterlife world of Adystria, a magical land of monsters and dragons where good and evil are waging an eternal war. There, she finds old friends and loved ones waiting, except the husband who died before her. Armed with a sword and partnered with her late father, she sets off through the battle-torn landscape on a quest to find out where he is.

Oscar-winner Bullock will produce, as will Roy Lee and Miri Yoon for Vertigo Entertainment. I’m hearing from sources that Gravity star Bullock could potentially lead cast in the movie, which is currently in development. Mark Millar and Greg Capullo will be executive producers. Co-producer will be Samantha Nisenboim.

Netflix and Bullock recently teamed up on Bird Box, which the streaming giant says been seen by more than 80M households, making it one of their biggest success stories.

    1. I believe there are several different covers on this. With Image, you are looking at a decent print run. Doesn’t matter if the show is good though.

      1. It’s also Mark Millar. His entire goal is to make shows from his comics so despite his books getting turned into films, they never really seem to reach their full potential.

  1. Bird Box was kind of a dumb-ass and contrived concept, but beautifully executed. Reborn is a really cool concept and I’m excited to see how it’s going to be pulled off. My hesitation on going to much into these books is that Netflix spec seems to only go so far. Is it because it’s essentially a ‘free’ movie (I know Netflix isn’t free) and the expectation is low and the entry point cheaper than a blockbuster summer movie? I would say tread lightly on these properties for spec. Thankfully most are still available at cover price (or below, I know I have several runs of ‘Huck’ I have from the dollar bin).

  2. As with any spec, only buy what you can afford .. it will be a while before we see the film .. however, based on Bullock’s involvement and the quality of this story, if done right, and NF tends to do things right, I think it’s a safe bet ..

      1. Yes you do and I have a Blank cover with an awesome Francavilla sketch on it. I should have gotten Jock to sign it as well but it was just too cool to let Jock touch after Francavilla doodled on it. 🙂

    1. I had a Reborn # 1 nycc Cgc SS 9.8 Capullo I totally forgot I had up for sale. I got the notification it sold today without obo. I new something was up. ?

    1. I found it okay, wasn’t great. I think a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon due to Capullo doing the interiors. I liked Millars Starlight much better.
