Spoilers: Venom #11 Donny Cates Completely Rewrites Venom History

Venom #11 is out in stores tomorrow. There are several covers on this one, the regular, Watchmen Homage, and the Skrulls Variant variant. In this issue, pretty much everything you knew about Venom and Eddie Brock has changed. Check out the spoilers below:

Think about all we know about Eddie Brock and Venom at the beginning. He went to the church, the bell tolled, and Venom dripped down on him. From there, we fund out Eddie went to the church to kill himself. We found out later Eddie had cancer. Eddie had a family, we met his dad recently, but he had a sister Mary. We found out very recently that he has a brother Dylan. So let’s get ready to see the Eddie’s world change.

We found out that Eddie has been sick lately, he has been coughing up blood. He has been passing out. Well, leave it to the Thinker to fix him (whether the cure kills him or not).

But Venom has been protecting him as well. Currently Venom is……

Like I said, sometimes the cure is worse than the disease so Thinker asks Dylan to leave the room so he can….

And outside Dyan runs into….

Meanwhile, inside Eddie’s fevered head he goes to…..

For an inner dialogue with his dead sister Mary

Eddie explains why he was there to begin with.

And the what for.

But during the process Mary turns out to not be Mary, and the “everything you ever knew about Venom is wrong” thing kicks in.

And Eddie figures out why it has happened.

Wait, it never was cancer????

Eddie wakes up…

Thanks Thinker for reassuring him his brother is ok…

But wait…

He is not? Then who is he?

Dylan’s first cameo is in Venom #7  and his first full appearance is in Venom #9

  1. I’m probably the only one but I’m not really into this anymore. I’m definitely dropping it after next issue.

    1. I agree. Cates is wearing thin. Not digging the series any longer. I removed from my pull two issues ago, but I have ended up picking them up anyway.

  2. Not as big a reveal as I was hoping. Does nothing for we at the moment, But might be worth stashing an extra 7 and 9 away if you can find them in 9.6/9.8 shape in the wild still.

      1. Venom #3 was very good to me….I had like 9.6/9.8 copies…kept a couple, sold the rest for $30+ each. Wish I had grabbed more of issue 4 too.

  3. If Dylan is Eddie’s son, and Sleeper is Venom’s son, then it would make perfect sense for them to bond, right? Maybe stock up on Venom 165 / 7?

      1. I like 9 over 7 for 1st full Dillon. It will be interesting to see how telegraphed the 1st costumed Dillon will be, if it does happen in one form or another.

        1. I feel like with cameo / 1st appearance debates, the market will usually trend towards the book that’s harder to get, so for me that’s going to be 7 secret variant and 8 animation variant. First Dillon as Sleeper will be a hot book, hopefully we’ll get a heads up here combined with a low print run if and when that happens.

  4. im thinking marvel is making there version of super sons. normie osborn has carnage symboite pieces in his blood and dylan will end up with venom pieces some how. aka symboite sons.

  5. Personally, I think Dylan is a dead character walking. Cates has said many times that Carnage is akin to the Joker. What better way to start the battle and get Eddie going again than to pull a Jason Todd on Dylan?

  6. So much for not retconning anything. I hate how much Donny’s actions doesn’t match what he says on twitter and yet he wants us to value what he says over what he does; the hallmarks of a gaslighter to be sure. To hell with him and this run

  7. marvels top three series are venom, inmortal hulk&gardians of the galaxy. loving what Donny is doing here.um a kid venom&red goblin jr. team up?toss in the original spidergirl and I am all in. I need to restock my #7s&9s. love you all blind adam out
