Final Order Cut-Off Highlights for 3/11/19

Final Order Cut-Off is the last day that shops can guarantee their orders for comics. After Final Order Cut-Off, or FOC, these books will only be available to retailers on Advance Reorder. And that is not guaranteed. So here are the highlights for Monday, 3/11/19’s FOC list.

Marvel

Marvel’s Annotated #3 Dell’Otto Variant – This is a funny one. Marvel has had Marvel’s in print forever, but this is a re-release in annotated form (notes) so not sure stores are going heavy on it. Throw in the fact that this is the third issue and this has a high cover price and this could be way under-ordered.

Immortal Hulk #16 – At this point, do I really need to explain the need to pick up Immortal Hulk?

Major X #1 – I am just gonna throw this one out there. Rob Liefeld is creating a new X-Man character. Not sure how he is going to do or if it is going to amount to anything, but still…

Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys the Marvel Universe #2 – Great Gerardo Zaffino cover. Its just awesome.

True Believers Thanos VS the Marvel Universe #1 – Infinity Gauntlet is getting the $1 True Believer treatment. Classic cover.

DC

Batman #68 Mattina Cover – dark cover. Looks good. I am still on the fence about supporting him though.

Green Lantern #6 Parillo Cover – another good looking cover.

Deathstroke #42 Mattina Cover – Here is one of the covers that Mattina has gotten in trouble over See the Robin in the upper right corner? That was lifted from Ben Oliver….

Harley Quinn #60 Frank Cho Cover – Yeah! Cho is back. I thought when he left I would stop buying Harley… The covers since he left have been just as awesome. I am looking forward to Cho being back though.

Absolute Art of Adam Hughes Hardcover – Normally I wouldn’t put TPB or Hardcovers on here but… Adam Hughes gets the Absolute treatment.

This amazing collection features the best of Eisner Award-winning artist Adam Hughes’ covers for DC Comics, including covers for WONDER WOMAN, CATWOMAN and more, plus commentary from the artist, rarely seen preliminary material and even more! This title includes everything from COVER RUN: THE DC COMICS ART OF ADAM HUGHES plus more than 100 additional covers with new commentary.

Image/Indy

Rocko’s Modern Afterlife #1 – Sweet, the classic Nick cartoon is getting a Zombie/horror twist. Worked for Archie didn’t it.

Section Zero #1 – Looks like the classic 2000 series from Image is coming out again. Imagine Jack Kirby doing the X-Files and you got it.

Jim Henson’s Storyteller Sirens #1 – The awesome series returns, this time Mermaids.

  1. The Green Lantern is a Parrillo cover, nice one also. The Mattina Bats cover ..well it Mattina and it is still a nice one. Immortal Hulk and the Del Otto surely grabbing those.

  2. Awesome Green Lantern cover – Hal looks like he’s about to rage on someone. Love the Deathstroke cover too. Section Zero looks freaky…will have to check it out. Wondering if Major X has eyes…not sure how he sees given that odd helmet. Not thrilled with the Cho Harley cover…kind of boring IMO…I would be ok with him moving on to another title.
