As the battle continues with all hands on deck, Adam Warlock and Captain Marvel locate Thanos. Warlock confronts Thanos after Mar-Vell was knocked unconscious knocking out the energy shield projector.
Warlock falls to Thanos. With the soul gems combined, he’s much more powerful.
Thor and Iron Man show up to confront Thanos. While Thor and Thanos clash in battle, Iron Man destroys the fabricated 7th soul gem that was holding it all together. Once destroyed, Thanos vanishes.
Soon after Thanos is defeated, Captain Marvel witnesses a second Adam Warlock appear from the past and absorbs his present self that had perished by the might of Thanos.
Warlock finds himself in a world of peace and happiness, within the soul gem itself.
That’s your Marvelous Monday. Sorry it was a quickie but still a great pick I think for some entertainment. The only thing I think that would have made this book even better is if we got some Kirby or Starlin to do the interior art.
Another likely very unknown fact; Warlock issue 15, which I think comes before Marvel Team-Up 55, was the first mention/reference that there was more than one infinity stone, although it didn’t say how many or say their actual names.
Go check it out!
Great issue. This was pretty much the culmination of the war between Thanos and Mar-vell that had been ongoing since CM #24 or so.
