Throwback Thursday

Tonight, I’m taking you all back to 2014. Five years ago we got introduced to a new character that took off as a new fan favorite.

Back in July of 2014, Amazing Spider-Man #4 hit store shelves to introduce us to Silk, the girl who got bit by the same radioactive spider that Peter got bitten by to give him his powers.

Both bitten but end up having two completely different stories until Peter frees Cindy Moon.

It’s hard to imagine she’s now been around for 5 years. Time flies and I’m hoping to see more Silk in her own series eventually as I was really digging her stand alone series.

That’s your Throwback Thursday for this July 4th, 2019. It’s a quickie throwback. Happy Independence Day for all you American readers…

  1. I just sold one of my extra copies for $30 about a month ago. This character is so under rated. Fudge Spider-Gwen. Silk all the way!!!

  2. Silk was overshadowed by Spider-Gwen, a alternate reality character, who was initially intended to be Spider-Ben. Had they stayed that course SILK would’ve/Could’ve been bigger.

  3. That cover to me always looked as if Peter laughing maniacally and rubbing his hands together all evil like because Cindy got bit. If Marvel decides to go all in with Silk and put her in a movie all covers will spike like crazy, first, second and the 1:10 variant! The store variants will do well too.

    1. I’ve held onto a regular, 1:10 and some of her standalone #1 books. I did very well with the news last year of her getting a possible movie.
