  1. I’ve seen clips of Twilight.. they just doomed not only this movie but the book as well. Glad I dumped mine at it’s peak, I can’t see this one going up in value that much again.

          1. True.. but my wife read a snippet to me from out of the books, they definitely cater to the lower IQ reading class.. Twighlight was a tween movie and book.. and honestly, if you like watching and reading crap, all the power to you! 🙂

              1. Oh man, those were horrible as well. The weird part about 50 shades is with all this metoo movements, I’m surprised women even get into 50 shades.. I haven’t watched them but my wife says they’re pretty much degrading to all women…

                1. It’s sexual fantasy from woman’s perspective. Basically the books catered to very vanilla house wives. However, and as a result, sales of certain “products” increased as a result of the books. So even while it is low brow, it started a cultural movement.

      1. 3 movies @ 1.5 billion is only 500 million per film. And seeing it was an adaptation of a popular book series, that box office take is not impressive, imo.

    1. Seen clips?!? LOL! COme on man, theres no shame is saying you saw the movie. Shit I saw them and thought they were OK.

        1. Im in that boat, Poyo. Never saw any ‘shade’ movie, or Twilight. Ive never seem Avatar. I have not seen any Mission Impossibly movie since the first one. Most movies are cookie cutter crap, imo. Im watching Stranger Things right now, S2E4, and Im about to jump off. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. The writing is not good, at all. Every occurrence is unexplained and conveniently written. M2c. I have found myself reading more and more, in my down time, as opposed to watching anything on TV, atm.

          1. I go to the Marvel movies, about half I’ll see in the theater. DC I just wait for Netflix or Redbox. I like the John Wick movies but other than that, I’m not a big movie watcher, at least paying to see it in theaters.

As for most of the movies hitting theaters, most look like utter crap.

I do like Stranger Things, I think it’s more of the nostalgic value it brings. The one show I’ll watch and won’t stop watching until I’ve seen them all is current Ozark. I think season 3 is in hiatus so they need to hurry up and decide it’s fate cause I really want to see more of that show (plus I got a crush on the curly blonde hair girl in the show.. must be her Southern Midwest accent or something.. )

            1. I enjoy the Marvel movies too. They are very well done, and thought out, imo. The last movies I saw in the theatre were Star Wars 7, Logan, Endgame. Oh, and I saw Spiderverse in the theatre, as I took my niece to go see it. Im looking forward to watching Bright Burn when it comes to home theatre in a few weeks.

              1. Ah yeah, I see Star Wars in the theaters. I did see Spider-Verse but that was to kill time one day with cousins and my kids while I was at my grandmothers funeral back in January.

  2. So things that Poyo doesn’t like are crap, you have a lower IQ if you like them, and all women are supposed to hate 50 shades because of ‘metoo’. Got it.

    1. I believe that goes like this, Mike.

If Poyo doesnt like it, he thinks it is crap. One mans opinion should not be read as fact.

The books were written to cater to a lower IQ.
This is the books genre. Romance novels are not considered significant literature.

During a period of time where our society has a spotlight on Womens rights, with ‘movements’ in full swing, yes, it is odd that a movie that completely objectifies women was as welcomed as it was, given the current state of our society.

Critical reading is a valuable tool.

      1. Thanks for clarifying the obvious for me JayClue. Seems I upset a fan of the movies from my opinion.. 😉

People are entitled to opinions still right? Or did I miss that memo?

    2. I’ll clarify on top of what JayClue said:

“So things that Poyo doesn’t like are crap”

Yes, they are. Just because I think they’re crap doesn’t mean they’re crap to others. Opinion.

“you have a lower IQ if you like them”

I never said that. I said the books cater to lower IQ reading not that you have a low IQ if you like them. You do know how to read right?

“and all women are supposed to hate 50 shades because of ‘metoo’”

Where did I say that? Now you’re just makin’ shit up I didn’t even say or imply.

      “Got it.”

      Clearly you don’t.
