Something is Killing the Children #2 Sells Out Before Release, 2nd Print Coming

Something is Killing the Children #2 is sold out at Diamond before release and will be going back for a second printing.

Something is Killing the Children #2 isn’t due in stores until 10/16/19, but it is already sold out at Diamond and is going back for a second printing. The sell out was reported by Boom today and is both for the regular and FOC Variant.

Boom is reporting the sell out via their retailer newsletter. Of interest, Boom is fast tracking the Second Print and are saying allocations may occur.

Boom recently put out a letter trying to discourage speculation on their books but are driving speculation with FOC variants and short printed reprints (Once & Future for example).

    1. Exactly what I’ve been thinking since this Once and Future nonsense. Oh well, good for anyone who could get them.

  1. I couldn’t find any Once & Future locally, but was out of state recently and visited a shop that had a giant stack of 1s and 2s. First prints. They said they didn’t understand the shortage. All their stores had more than they could sell. I told them they must be the reason no one else has them. They’re all there! I bought three copies of #1.

  2. So basically FOC is weeks earlier than what is reported…shouldn’t they just change their FOC to be more consistent with when the print order is placed? Or does Diamond determine that independent of what Boom is doing and Boom has absolutely no say in the matter?

    1. Boom is now guessing at What the orders will be and printing that in order to get the book back on the shelf. From there they will do additional reprints if needed.

    2. According to their letter, they’re doing this to get the books out on the shelves faster for consumers (due to demand).. that’s what they’re at least claiming. Could be partially true, we do live in an impatient world where everyone wants it now… but I also think they’re creating false demand along with it, just a little marketing 101 to get people to talk and buy their stuff before it even hits the shelves.

  3. Oh, and maybe Boom should be using over seas vendors…I am interested to know what country they are sending business to…China?
