Variants of the Week 11/20/2019

This week I didn’t get to everything on my reading list, so this is built more off aesthetics than story writing, but I  do feel it was a pretty solid week for indies.

He-Man And The Masters Of The Multiverse #1 Cover A Regular Inhyuk Lee Cover

This might just be my cover of the week.  The problem is that a lot of retailers have caught to the fact that Lee has been pumpin out some scorchers.

Batman Vol 3 #83 Cover B Variant Francesco Mattina Card Stock Cover

As much as I like Mattina, I think the novelty of his craftsmanship has stared to wear on collectors.

Flash Forward #3 Cover B Variant Inhyuk Lee Cover

Question The Deaths Of Vic Sage #1 Cover A Regular Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz Cover

Deadpool Vol 7 #1 Cover H Incentive Junggeun Yoon Variant Cover

Archie The Married Life 10th Anniversary #4 Cover C Variant Billy Tucci & Wes Hartman Cover

Gorgeous cover, but this not for your normal Archie fans. It feel like its more of a Post-Riverdale introspective.

Grimm Fairy Tales 2019 Armed Forces Appreciation Cover C Michael DiPascale
By Zenescope Entertainment

Gorgeous cover. If I can my hands on some issues I might send this in a care packages to our boys over seas.

Machine Girl #1 Cover A Regular Cover
By Red 5 Comics

Interesting concept, beautiful cover.  Some might prefer the Machine Girl #1 Cover B Incentive Fernando Heinz Furukawa Variant Cover but I like the cover A myself.

Roku #2  Cover B Variant Jeff Dekal Cover
By Valiant Entertainment

Tank Girl Vol 3 #8 Cover B Variant Greg Staples Virgin Cover
By Titan Comics

Heartbeat #1 Cover C Incentive Thank You Variant Cover
By Boom! Studios

Story and art by MARIA LLOVET (Faithless) there isn’t a story yet per se, but the back ground stuff is interesting.

  1. This digital artwork that many of these cover artists utilize these days is finally starting to wear thin for me. This cover of a solo character digitally created in a pose is just not cuttin’ it anymore.

  2. I agree. I was initially taken by the polished look of the digital stuff, but you know what it is? It’s the CGI of comic covers. It’s very artificial.
