This weeks was a cover lover’s delight. Heck even DC put on a strong showing. There was three #1 issues that caught my eye. 5 indie titles. Submissions by Inhyuk Lee; Artgerm; Clayton Crain, Jeff Lemire, Jenny Frison, and Catherine Nodet ensured that I’ll have to make hard decisions at the next trip to the LCS. Oh and we are 4 issues into the Death Defying Devil, and still no answer on why he needs to have spikes so close to the crotch.
Chastity Vol 2 #4 Cover L Incentive Catherine Nodet Black & White Cover
Dynamite: So I do like this cover by Nodet, who is still earning her bones, but the incentive covers is an overkill.
Death-Defying Devil Vol 2 #4 Cover A Regular Inhyuk Lee Cover
Dynamite:
Vampirella Vol 8 #6 Cover T Incentive Adam Hughes Icon Edition Variant Cover
Dynamite:
Marvel Tales Annihilation #1 Cover B Incentive Inhyuk Lee Virgin Cover
Marvel:
Revenge Of The Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 Cover E Incentive Gerardo Zaffino Variant Cover
Marvel:
Star Wars Rise Of Kylo Ren #1 Cover A Regular Clayton Crain Cover
Marvel: Its interesting that this is the best one of the bunch, and its not even one of the incentive variants
GLOW Vs The Babyface #2 Cover C Incentive Catherine Nodet Variant Cover
IDW: Catherine Nodet’s second appearance on this list, the opening interest was quick and decisive. With an incentive variant at 1:20 my thinking is that there may be in 150 in circulations.
Basketful Of Heads #3 Cover B Variant Tula Lotay Cover
DC:
Batman Vol 3 #85 Cover B Variant Francesco Mattina Card Stock Cover
DC: About time! Mattina has always drawn some good art for Batman, but lately there hasn’t been that much that grabbed me as interesting. At 35,000 in circulation I don’t see this selling out.
Harleen #3 Cover A Regular Stjepan Sejic Cover
DC: This title has some interesting numbers from 900-2000. Regardless of a lack of opening interest, this is one that I must have to get graded for the wall.
He-Man And The Masters Of The Multiverse #2
DC:
Joker Killer Smile #2 Cover B Variant Jeff Lemire Cover
DC:
SHAZAM Vol 2 #9 Cover B Variant Kaare Andrews Cover
DC:
Skulldigger And Skeleton Boy From The World Of Black Hammer #1 Cover B Variant Mike Deodato Jr Cover
DARKHORSE: Some of my premier rules of a sustainable is property is that the characters have got to recognizable, yet easy cosplay, Strong writers, discernible art, and characters with an interesting background story. Check on all these.
Wonder Woman Vol 5 #83 Cover B Variant Jenny Frison Cover
DC:
Suicide Squad Vol 5 #1 Cover A Regular Ivan Reis & Joe Prado Cover
DC:1ST Appearance of the Australian teleporter, Wink.
Kaare Andrews did the B cover on Killer Smile #2. The Black Label books, this week, are worth. Daniel Warren Johnson continues to be really impressive, imho. Harleen #2 was cool as hell.
* Harleen #3.
