Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 1/1/20

Every week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for Delivery 1/1/2020.

Happy new year everyone. Its been quiet lately so hopefully the new year brings new profitable flips. This last week of the year is thin for spec however.

Optioned #2
Killadelphia #2 – Great start to a series. Optioned for TV. No announcement yet so retailers may not have adjusted orders. I am shooting for the Jim Mahfood cover.

New #1’s
I Can Sell You A Body #1 – IDW has had some hot books lately. This interesting new series looks promising.

Hawkeye Freefall #1 – New Hawkeye series by Matt Rosenberg. Should be a good read if nothing else.

Star Wars #1 – Star Wars relaunches following the events from Empire Strikes Back. Star Wars has been hot lately.

Tarot #1 – New Avengers series beautifully drawn by Paul Renaud. Really trippy David Nakayama Variant for this one.

Small Press Picks of the Week
Classic Pulp Horror One Shot – EC style collection of three classic horror stories. Pre-code reprints.

Seance Room #1 – New Source Point Press book. Small press- small print run. The Seance Room is a place beyond time and space that exists inside of a castle owned by an eccentric ghost monger. Six ghosts have been trapped there, each with their own expertise of the expired. Do you dare tempt fate and enter the Seance Room? The debut issue opens the door of the mansion to career politician Senator Donahue. He crashes his car and his hopes at the Magic Manor and, in the Seance Room, he will have to account for his two-faced ways. In politics words are for votes, in the Seance Room, we wrap them around your throat and give you the rope. Looks awesome.

Thor #1 – Donny Cates doing Thor. Spoilers leaked out earlier giving away a new role for Thor. The Jen Bartel and Artgerm Covers kind of give it away.
