It appears we have our first images of the New Captain America. Page Six reported that Wyatt Russell has been spotted in Atlanta filming his part for Falcon & Winter Soldier Series on Disney+.
Wyatt is seen here in his Military Uniform sporting a cast on his arm. Wyatts Character is Johnny Walker, A.K.A U.S. Agent. Walker was in the military and served at Fort Bragg. So these pictures seem to confirm that Disney+ is keeping with his origin.
Next we see Wyatt in what appears to be a modified Captain America outfit sporting the same Vibranium Shield (Notice the Gun on the left hip).
During his time as Captain America in the comics, Walker never used a weapon other then his shield (that I am aware of). But his time as U.S. Agent, he is often depicted as having this side arm on him. The outfit seems to match the modified one he used as U.S. Agent. Could this be an indication of a blend of both characters or will this be U.S. Agent and not Captain America as many speculate him being? If this turns out to be the latter, who then would carry the mantle and title of Captain America?
Walker first appeared as the super villain Super-Patriot in Captain America #323
After a few more appearances, Walker was reintroduced as the new Captain America in issue #333 where he would stay until issue 350.
Walkers first appearance as U.S. Agent was in Captain America # 354.
Really curious as to what these Disney+ MCU shows will be like.
yeah me too! hoping disney+ marvel shows are similar in tone to the mcu movies.
as series go, netflix’s marvel shows were decent. but as comic book adaptations go, they were much too brutal/depressing (for me).
i think the balance in tone that the mcu has established in its films (particularly black panther and infinity war) is perfect.
looking forward to it hopefully carrying over to the shows.
Hard to imagine another actor in this role, but looking forward to seeing how they do it
