  1. Ordered 5 copies of Lois Lane 8 this morning. Hopefully it really heats up. Haven’t bought new comics in a while…

      1. because when it comes down to a new character whose debut is across two books, it’s all about the better cover.

        It’s also another slow week….

But if 8 takes off, then 7 can’t be far behind or may be good to pair up with 8.

      2. Sadly when was the last time a Superman related villain heated up? Or at least stayed hot? All the hoopla over the Red Mist didn’t last long and I hate to be bearer of bad mojo but Rucka sucks most of the time at writing. I gave him another chance at Wonder Woman and it was bleh…

        1. This isn’t a Superman villain. It’s a lois lane villain!!

I guess that doesn’t make the case any stronger…

But the villain is interesting and looks kinda bad-ass…I think that’s what people are drawn to.

Plus it’s been a slow start to the year…that kinda feeds into it. But I agree…tread carefully.

          1. Lois Lane will always be part of Superman universe. Honestly, does Lois even have powers? Superman gonna have to come save her from this new villain and any villain found in a Lois book will make it’s way into Superman, that’s if they stick around. Villains are hit or miss..

I made it to the shop. One copy on the shelf. Only 2 copies of #7. I don’t think this is a series people are rushing out to buy and read as a must have.. it’s Rucka too, he’s not the greatest in my opinion. I think he’s overrated, if that’s way of putting his writing.

                1. It was directed at poyo. But is see he didn’t refer to her as a super hero…but his question about her lack of super powers eluded to she was insignificant….which by hat logic would make Batman insignificant.

                2. No, Batman is rich… that’s his super power! And he knows how to fight, he’s like a ninja too.. What can Lois do again? Write news stories? To some that might be a hero but honestly I could argue she’s probably hated more than liked in the current state of affairs coming out of the media.. 😛

  2. Just an FYI, the forums have privileged access that one gains over time. The more you read, post and comment on the forums, your trust level goes up.

Just wanted to say, I’ve posted a little pre-spoiler spoilers on the privileged categories in the forums before they go live here on the main site for Darth Vader, Batman #88 and Lois Lane #8. No purchase required either.. all you gotta do is start visiting and using the forums, gain some trust and you get access to the privileged content from time to time.

    1. Lol! Marvel just screwed a bunch of their customers. They release a three book second print set of the new Stormranger character and then in issue 12 today that character is seemingly destroyed (along with any value on any of those related books). On top of that not even a sniff of Amulet as far as I could see. Can we start a new anti-spec thread? ?

      1. Are characters truly destroyed though? Actually, an AI type of character could re-emerge in a more realistic way than the organic beings could.

But is it really screwing customers? They likely printed additional books to fulfill orders. They probably already had #12 before the masses jumped on the bandwagon of the new character. They don’t know who’s going to be hot or not, that’s all on us consumers. Marvel makes a product, they just want to sell the product. Its we consumers who make these more than just reading material..

        1. Well I guess you’re right to an extent because they did the same thing for the Snowguard character over in the Champions and now they’re just repeating that same tactic. That character just became irrelevant because the book got canceled. The fact that Marvel saw the reception that this character had and then decided to create this triptych second print cover with that character on it is an unabashed cash grab, no? Are you telling me that Marvel marketing does not communicate at all with the creators which again I wouldn’t find super hard to believe but they’ve obviously created these covers because of the interest in the character and now that character for now at least is kaput. It’s okay ..now everyone can just move on to the next flavor of the week.

          1. Sadly that has been the nature of the market for new books lately. Not just Snowguard. It is comics however so no saying that Stormranger is gone for good. But the market has been about the flavor of the week. But what you like. Sell what everyone else is buying.

      2. They already said she going to play a major role in this upcoming year and I think she’s getting her own series? . So don’t bury her yet

  3. Grabbed 1 copy each of 7A/B and 8A/B.

Also snagged MMPR/TMNT #3 thank you variant.

    So a pretty decent haul.

Did not see Aggretsuko #1, but this LCS isn’t consistent on ordering unproven Indy titles.

Will hit another LCS on the way home. Hopeful

  4. Got a #7/8 Cover A. No Aggretsuko. Picked up a Mister Miracle #18 (wed to Barda) for 5 bucks.

Am I seeing this right on ebay – already at $30+ for sets of 7/8?

      1. I haven’t shipped out the asm 33 book yet…finally got some supplies in so I can ship it safely…

Wondering if this Lois book tanks if I should offer up one of my extras….was hoping to find one more today at a second LCS…didn’t happen.

        1. I found issue 7 wiped out when I got my comics this evening. Thankfully I threw copies in my box last night. Ended up with two cover a one cover b and one each 7a and 7b. Got two copies each Aggretsuko and have already sold one of each. Good flipping week.

  5. Also, anyone know anything about a shortage on long boxes out there? My lcs says they won’t get any in for a couple months….

    1. Diamond has plenty in stock .. must be ordered in packs of 10 minimum, item code SUPPLY369 .. shipping cost increases have caused some shops to curtail larger item ordering .. all the shippers now use dimensional charges, which can make something like this cost as much to ship as the items themselves ..

      1. We buy our supplies by the pallet load, usually 4-6 pallets at a time and get the freight charges down to around 20 cents a pound that way. But even still I hate everything about long boxes. Bulky to ship, bulky to store as inventory, and terrible for your back once loaded. We subsidize the cost of short boxes for our customers just so we sell as few long boxes as possible.

        1. I learned the lesson the last time we moved and switched to short boxes. However I still have about 50 long boxes I have to move out of storage. Even short boxes can hurt if you move enough. I moved to our new house in December and moved over 150 short boxes. My back hurt for weeks.

  6. Good day of pick ups:
    Lois Lane #7 (A & B)
    Lois Lane #8 (B)
    Aggretsuko #1 (A & B)
    Power Rangers/TMNT #1 (2nd print thank you-green ranger cover) $15
    Gideon’s Falls 21
    Darth Vader #1 (Cover A)

Also able to pick up 2 copies of Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur #28 (1st Omnipotentis) for $13 and $18-don’t know why but these are going for some stupid money.

    Good hunting everyone.

    1. Holy crap!! MG 28 was the book that got me addicted to flipping. I found so many of them just sitting in shelves and I’d turn them around for $25-$30. Then over the past year it settled to about $15-$20 and I figured that’s where it would be until the cartoon came out,

But raw copies are hitting $100….and there are a few sales of 9.8s hitting $300 (gotta wonder if that’s shill bidding).

I kept the best copy I had…very much a 9.8. Might have to get it graded and flip it for a nice silver age beauty if this holds. I was holding onto my moon girl books for my daughter for when the cartoon debuts…but might be getting her the grade instead!

      1. Moon Girl 28 is selling because Jims Comics put out some fake bs about Black Winter’s indentity being Omnipotentis.

          1. The seller who sold two CGC 9.8 copies via auction last month for $47 and $35.51 respectively must be kicking himself now.

              1. Despite what Jim thinks, even if the character is black winter why do people feel it’s a $100 raw comic?

                Insanity.

Now I need to decide whether I want to part with my “perfect” copy…I also have all these Naomi 9.8s I’m sitting in waiting for the (eventual) rebound to happen (same situation where do I want good cash now or wait for the 9.8 and take a chance on getting more cash.

Bah!!! This drama is why I love this hobby!

                1. I don’t really comment on other people’s spec. So if Jim is right or not, it is spec. The market is reacting to it. So I see it as my time to sell.

  7. Decent day!

    Lois Lane 7A x 5
    Lois Lane 8A x 2
    Lois Lane 8B x 4
    Aggretsuko 1A x 2 / 1B x 1

I flipped 2 copies of LL8B and priced the others on the higher end and monitoring. Not in a rush to flip these because I think the character design is really awesome. I love that she can mask around as pretty much anyone she has a mask of before showing off that skull! Might send them off to CGC. And I have 7 more copies of LL8A on the way to me.

Also pulled out a beautiful Elektra 21 Greg Horn cover out of a dollar bin 😀

  8. No Lois Lane here but did pick up Xmen/FF #1 and it was a good read. Other than that it was a pretty slow week…

  9. Didn’t land an Aggretsuko #1, but did pick up Lois Lane 7 & 8. The pull:

    Batman #88 (Cover A Tony S. Daniel)
Batman #88 (Cover B Francesco Mattina Card Stock Variant)
    Green Lantern #1 (Facsimile Edition)
Justice League #40 (Cover A Bryan Hitch)
Justice League #40 (Cover B Arthur Adams Card Stock Variant)
Justice League Odyssey #18 (Cover B Skan)
Young Justice #13 (Cover B Mike Grell)
Lois Lane #7 (Of 12)(Cover A Mike Perkins)
Lois Lane #8 (Of 12)(Cover A Mike Perkins)
Lois Lane #8 (Of 12)(Cover B Kamome Shirahama)
Immortal Hulk Great Power #1 (Cover A Jorge Molina)
Star Wars Darth Vader #1 (Cover A In-Hyuk Lee)
Conan Battle For The Serpent Crown #1 (Of 5)(Cover A Mahmud A. Asrar)
Predator Hunters III #1 (Of 4)(Cover B Andy Brase Glow In The Dark Variant)

  10. Haberlin’s art, in The Marked, is some of my favorite in any book. The covers, for the upcoming issues are getting better, it seems, imho. FemForce is worth $6, but not $10, for myself. The Electric Black neon cover is amazing, in person. That series is really good. The AOC book might catch fire, again, imho, again… I, in all honesty, put $25 down, for it, with no apprehension of being stuck with it. The only other copy was listed for $85, and I am all but sure there aren’t gonna be any copies around, tomorrow. Prolly worth a look, though.
Some ‘worth’ books, that I have been lucky enough to grab lately are Ice Cream Man #1A, a couple of copies of Coda #1, from being convinced by year-end reviews, lol, and Thor #154, which is the first time that the universe got a Mangog, that I am aware of, anyway. Peace.
