Comic Picks of the Week for Delivery 7/8/20

Every week, hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 7/1/20.

More comics back on the shelves. We haven’t seen Dark Horse in a while, they are back, well with one title at least. Marvel has some books out this week. DC is still leading the charge.

New #1’s
Skylin #1 – New Source Point series. Princess Carly, being the only noble of proper age from her nation, has prepared her entire life to become a Serpen Rider. Accompanied by the Royal Guard and her handmaiden, Skylin, she sets out on the long road with glory on her mind. However, powerful forces are emerging from the shadows and seek a dark future for the world.

Absolute Flipbook #1 Monster Isle – Absolute Flipbook contains two stories in one book. This issue features the first issues of: ‘Pandora’s Blogs’ – A young girl moves to a new town in Legends Florida, only to discover that the strange things she is blogging about have a nasty habit of landing her in hot water – and ‘Monster Isle’ – – A long-forgotten amusement park dedicated to monsters may hold a dangerous secret. It’s up to the three young adventurers to discover its mysteries and protect us all!

The DC Picks
Batman #94 – The identity of The Designer is revealed.


Detective Comics #1023 – Great Joker cover for the A Cover. Lee Bermejo does a killer B. Joker War continues.


Harley Quinn #74 – Second to last issue, the Frank Cho cover is just awesome.

Empyre Fantastic Four #0 – First appearance of the Profiteer, a long hidden Elder of the Universe

Ghost Rider #7 – Yeah! Ghost Rider returns. Spirits of Vengeance versus the Spirit of Corruption

Strange Academy #2 – The great new series finally continues after the COVID shut down hiatus.

Pick of the Week
Everglade Angels #1 – New Scout Series. A must for horror fans. Fantastic read. Girls baseball team vs. a mysterious cult of slashers. Don’t worry about chasing all the store variants. Check the shelves for the Red Log 1:10 Jae Lee variant and the VHS Secret Variant.
