CovrPrice Top 10 for Week Ending July 17, 2020

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBaytrends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics: (Please note, potential spoilers do follow, and, these results are for auction that closed last week. )

#1 THOR #5 (MARVEL, 2020) The BLACK WINTER is still super hot, landing in the TOP spot this week. This standard cover sold 69 copies, had a 7-day trend of 163% and had a high sale of $124.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#2 THE BLUE BEETLE #3 (DC, 2006) The 1st NEW Peacemaker (Christopher Smith) has been teased by director James Gunn over the past several weeks. This character is thought to be the role that John Cena will be playing in the new SUICIDE SQUAD film. This helped move copies this week with 17 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 556% and had a high sale of $24.99 for a raw copy.

#3 WAR OF REALMS NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 (MARVEL, 2019) LOTS of key appearances in this issue. However, with interest around SWORD MASTER, he appears first on this cover before his first appearance in issue #2. It sold 34 copies, had a 7-day trend of 229% and had a high sale of $109.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#4 THE OLD GUARD #1 (IMAGE, 2017) THE OLD GUARD on NETFLIX is a hit! #1 in the US. It’s pretty fantastic, which is helping sales pick back up. It sold 52 copies, had a 7-day trend of 146% and had a high sale of $130 for a CGC 9.8. (honestly, give it a watch… it’s so good)

#5 BLACK WIDOW #1 YELENA COVER (MARVEL, 1999) With her INHUMANS first appearance trending, Yelena’s first appearance as Black Widow is also heating up, moving 13 copies of this now hard to find variant, had a 7-day trend of 467% and had a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8.

#6 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 (MARVEL, 2011) Not much more to say about the juggernaut that is Miles Morales. His first appearance sold 56 copies, had a 7-day trend of 106% and had a high sale of $1,300 for a CGC 9.8.

#7 RUINS OF RAVENCROFT CARNAGE #1 (MARVEL, 2020) A repeat on this week’s TOP 10. This issue is the first appearance of Cortland Kasady, a violent ancestor of Cleetus Kasady (aka Carnage) from the 1600s. Cortland is expected to play a larger role in future storylines. Due to this spec, It sold 27 copies, had a 7-day trend of 210% and had a high sale of $27 for a raw copy. The Olivetti variant landed in our #12 runner up spot with a max sale of $26.

#8 INHUMANS #5 (MARVEL, 1999) Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova in the upcoming BLACK WIDOW film is set to become the new ongoing Black Widow for MCU’s phase 4. This news continued to heat up, moving 29 of her first appearance in this issue. It had a 7-day trend of 155% and had a high sale of $399.99 for a CGC 9.8.

#9 WILDC.A.T.S #1 (IMAGE, 1992) Honestly, we never thought that we would see this Jim Lee Image Flagship title land on our Top 10, but here it is. News of GRIFTER, whose first appearance is in this issue, appearing in BATMAN #100 trended quickly moving 45 copies, had a 7-day trend of 97% and had a high sale of $89.50 for a CGC 9.8. Keep in mind that MOST raw sales are around $3… but still. 45 copies of WILDC.A.T.S! This is Grifter’s first appearance in the DC “Rebirth” era since NEW 52.

#10 NEGAN LIVES #1 SILVER VARIANT (IMAGE, 2020)
This 2-per store exclusive saw a rise in price this week with 40 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 96% and had a high sale of $75 for a raw copy. The Gold variant is also on its way up at $180.

    1. Her face is actually partially shown. She is in a lot of panels and has lots of dialogue. Based on recent sale numbers and prices, IH5 is the winner and the market has already decided.

  1. I have several of the Black Widow 1’s. A few of each cover along with a few newsstands. If she the next Black Widow fur the MCU I think I’m going to hang onto them for a few years and cash out.
