Marvel Leaves Diamond for Penguin Random House

Retailers are being notified that Marvel has signed a distribution deal with Penguin Random House. Diamond will still distribute Marvel Comics but will be ordering directly from Penguin.

The following email has gone out to retailers today.

Stores will still be able to order through Diamond, but Diamond will get the books from the Distributor, Penguin Random House, instead of Marvel directly.

  1. Personally I genuinely think Diamond do a decent job. The recent increase in DC comics prices is scary and will definitely make me reconsider buying them. However,, is this what they want so you go digital? If Marvel are going the same route then maybe physical copies are coming to an end in the modern era. Uncertain times…

  2. My opinion is that Diamond messed up with the first wave of covid. A lot of books didn’t come out and that was totally unnecessary. Probably Marvel and DC were pissed off, they paid the artists, they did marketing and distributor was supposed to do its job, not to say “we won’t work”.
