Poyo’s FOC Highlight Books for Last Call April 3rd/4th 2022 ?

FOC is the last chance to put in your orders with your comic shops and likely get at a discount for pre-ordering.

Marvel has four additional prints this round and that goes to:

Venom Lethal Protector #1 (of 5) (2nd Ptg Variant)
Carnage #1 (2nd Ptg Variant)
Wolverine Patch #1 (of 5) (2nd Ptg Variant)
Avengers Forever #4 (2nd Ptg Camuncoli Variant).

Lots of buzz lately for Miles Morales Spider-Man #38 with Spider-Smasher being introduced. Lot’s of heads up on this one, so don’t go heavy I say as it’s also not in Miles current universe if I’m not mistaken (sorry, I’m not currently reading this title so only picking up the bits from online community).

If this does pan out, the ratio variants will be the winners but buy low.. if you miss it at lower prices, wait until the next potential hot book.

Miles Morales Spider-Man #38 (Souza Skrull Variant)
Miles Morales Spider-Man #38 (Bartel Variant)
Miles Morales #38 (1:10 Allen Design Variant)
Miles Morales #38 (1:25 Davila Variant)

Captain Marvel No More! Captain Marvel #38 could be a worthy pick up. There’s been past heat on this volume for Captain Marvel so it’s a small gamble but unless there’s some first appearances, Binary is nothing new to the Captain Marvel story telling.

Captain Marvel #38 (Segovia Skrull Variant)
Captain Marvel #38 (Bazaldua Variant)
Captain Marvel #38 (Noto Fortnite Variant)

Savage Avengers #1 gets a reboot. I read a bit of the last volume and liked it so I’ll have to hopefully go back and read the entire thing one day (the read list pile is still high for me). This appears to have Cloak and Dagger though, which I really enjoyed those characters long long ago in my juvenile days of comic book reading and collecting.

Everyone’s favorite new Wookiee Krrsantan (first appearance Darth Vader #1) gets a Tales Title.. Krrsantan Star Wars Tales #1. Count me in, I like Chewbacca but I welcome any new bad ass Wookiee into Star Wars. (Note: TFAW still seems to have the photo variant as the regular in their listing at time of writing)

This will likely go into more of his origin and background but Star Wars #20 dived a little into Krrsantan’s origins, which is a book (and a good one to own if you’re a Krrsantan fan) that’s on the rise it seems in value as we might see this Wookiee in the new Obi Disney+ series at some point. Then there was more origins (almost complete origins) in Star Wars Doctor Aphra Annual #1, which is another book bouncing around the value index.

The first solo cover which was Doctor Aphra #1 JTC Action Figure Variant is now an easy $75+ book on it’s own.

Speaking of Obi Wan, he’s getting his own mini-series (makes sense, the show is coming soon) with Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi #1 (of 5) which also have a pretty awesome Gist Variant.

Blood-Stained Teeth #1 (Cover A – Ward) is a new vampire title out from Image Comics. I’ll be skimming this one as I got an advanced review copy to see if it’s worthy or not since vampires are done all the time! It made the picks though since I normally like Ward’s work.

Bone Orchard Mythos HC Passageway is from a team I really dig. Lemire and Sorrentino were meant to be when it comes to making comics I think. This round they skipped the floppies and went straight to a hardcover, which I totally welcome being a trade and hardcover reader (collector)!

TFAW also has their own exclusive for this one: Bone Orchard Mythos HC Passageway (Andrea Sorrentino TFAW Exclusive Variant)

Star Wars Rebels fans might want to seek out Star Wars: Rebels TPB, which collects a bunch of stories from the magazines all in one.

And for you hardcore Star Wars fans comes The Art of Star Wars: Visions HC from Dark Horse. There’s also the The Art of Star Wars: Visions HC (Deluxe Edition) which comes with extra “art gallery quality” prints along in a slip case.

Naughty List #1 sounds great. Definitely future bathroom read material for me to keep me entertained while doing my other business.

It’s not a comic but everyone’s favorite Star Wars magazine, Star Wars Insider #210 (Newsstand Edition) is on FOC and it’s got some great covers I think this round.

Star Wars Insider #210 (FOC Luke-Grogu Trading Card Variant)

Once again, Swamp Thing covers don’t disappoint. Swamp Thing #12 (of 16) (Cover A – Mike Perkins) and the Swamp Thing #12 (of 16) (Cover B – Liam Sharp Card Stock Variant) are both winners in my book.

Swamp Thing #12 (of 16) (Cover A - Mike Perkins)

Loving this Action Comics #1042 (Cover B – Julian Totino Tedesco Card Stock Variant). Add this one to your Negative Space Variant collection..
