Welcome to this weeks spec. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover.
It’s a pretty light week..
Marvel Picks
Amazing Spider-Man #6 is the big landmark issue #900 but it’s #6. Will Marvel just go ahead and just go back to legacy numbering already. This is just getting stupid silly with them celebrating big rounded off numbers for titles on random issues.
Marvel gets excited with these so lots of variants:
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (25 Copy Tedesco Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Wolf Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Cassaday Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Young Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Ramos Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Su Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Bengal Connecting Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #6 (Momoko Variant)
We go back to Hank Pym in the first issue of Ant-Man #1 (of 5). Could be interesting with Al Ewing on writing duties.
Ant-Man #1 (of 5) (Young Variant)
Ant-Man #1 (of 5) (Gleason Stormbreakers Variant)
Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) might be fun and interesting with Peter David on writing duties.
Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) (Jurgens Variant)
Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) (Momoko Variant)
Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) (Cabal Stormbreakers Variant)
Genis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) Juni Ba VariantGenis-Vell Captain Marvel #1 (of 5) Taurin Clarke Variant
Strange #4 reintroducing Shadow Knight who first appeared long ago in Hulk! #17.
DC Picks
DC Mech #1 (of 6) (Cover B – Dan Mora Card Stock Variant) is a pretty cool design variant. I like it when they look like blueprints.
Really digging this Bill Sienkiewicz cover for Batman One Dark Knight #3 (of 3) (Cover B – Bill Sienkiewicz Variant). Ignore TFAW, they never updated the cover artist name for this one.
Indie and Small Publisher Picks
Macabre Motel #1 sounds interesting. Probably under ordered or overlooked by most shops.
Mechanix #1 could be a fun read if the writing is on par as I do like the cover artwork, which I hope is the same for the interiors. Already sold out at TFAW and some other places. None listed on eBay currently.
Sulfur Wells #1 is another mystery indie that might be a nice pickup.
