September Previews 2022 – Marvel Highlight Picks

Previews gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. Here’s the spotlight new books (and some trade/hardcovers/omnibuses) coming out of September for Marvel titles minus the Star Wars which is now in another article since there are so many of those now!

September Previews Highlight Picks for Marvel

Alien #3 has the pretty awesome Barends covers for the regulars but this round gives us a pretty kick ass Jonboy Meyers variant which I’m digging.

Alien #3
Alien #3 (Meyers Variant)
Alien #3 (Coello Variant)

Amazing Spider-Man #14 is the prelude to “Dark Web”… Marvel didn’t really think about what that small phrase defines right, in the world of technology? Anyways, the solicit mentions Chasm. Seems he’s gonna be the big bad villain in this story arc. Maybe we’ll see an uptick on Amazing Spider-Man #93 (Legacy #894) as that was the first for this villain.

Amazing Spider-Man #14 (Dark Web Variant)
Amazing Spider-Man #14 (Staub Beyond Amazing Spider-Man Variant)

Avengers #62 solicits the very first Sorcerer Supreme. So many new characters getting introduced lately. Seems watered down but maybe one of these will stick.

Blade Vampire Nation #1 is what I hope a fun read. Wesley Snipes says, “Always bet on Cover A!”

Blade Vampire Nation #1 (Artist Variant)
Blade Vampire Nation #1 (Inhyuk Lee Variant)

This is a series I intended to check out but this regular cover for Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2 (of 5) would have me picking this one up out of sheer curiosity alone.

Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2 (of 5) (David Mack Variant)

Fantastic Four #1 yet again gets rebooted. I fell off the FF bandwagon a long long time ago but I’m going to check this new volume out because it starts off with a time loop. Time travel and loops always fascinate me in movies, shows and stories so I’m hoping this new writer brings his A game, cause if they do, you got a reader.

Of course with this new volume, they’ll kick it off with a bazillion variants:
Fantastic Four #1 (Js Campbell Anniversary Variant)
Fantastic Four #1 (Noto X-treme Marvel Variant)
Fantastic Four #1 (Alex Ross Variant)
Fantastic Four #1 (Coello Variant)
Fantastic Four #1 (Nauck Headshot Variant)

Fantastic Four #52 Facsimile Edition is a holy grail type of book that I’ll never own in NM type condition. So this is the next best thing!

The one for the kids (and also for us grownup kids)… Peter Miles Spider-Man Double Trouble #1 (of 4)

Peter Miles Spider-Man Double Trouble #1 (of 4) (Jones Variant)
Peter Miles Spider-Man Double Trouble #1 (of 4) (Momoko Variant)

Planet Hulk Worldbreaker #1 (of 5) brings back Pak on Hulk writing duties. Might be worth checking out.

Planet Hulk Worldbreaker #1 (of 5) (Yu Variant)

I’m looking forward to this new series Secret Invasion #1 (of 5) as I really like the Skrulls.

Secret Invasion #1 (of 5) (Dellotto Variant)
Secret Invasion #1 (of 5) (Nauck Headshot Variant)
Secret Invasion #1 (of 5) (Young Variant)

Secret Invasion #1 (of 5)

The hit series Strange Academy new volume continues with Strange Academy Finals #2.

Strange Academy Finals #2 (Weaver Trading Card Variant)
Strange Academy Finals #2 (Baldeon X-treme Marvel Variant)

Thanos Death Notes #1 is what claims to be the story of Thanos wielding the hammer with the infinity stones out of Cates Thor Black Winter story line. Maybe we can dump those Thor #6 books at profit?

I’m pretty certain this won’t be the last we see this Thanos (and even Black Winter), as I’m sure Cates will be bringing him (them) back to Thor or someone will!

Thanos Death Notes #1 (Acuna Variant)
Thanos Death Notes #1 (Yu X-treme Marvel Variant)

Tiger Division #1 (of 5) is one to watch. But I don’t think this one is going to generate anything heat worthy. Most of the characters first appearances outside of this title (like White Fox in Contest of Champions #1 and Luna Snow and many others in Agents of Atlas #1) might gain more traction hopefully.

Tiger Division #1 (of 5) (Artgerm Variant)
Tiger Division #1 (of 5) (Yune Variant)
Tiger Division #1 (of 5) (Momoko Variant)
Tiger Division #1 (of 5) (Gomez Variant)
Tiger Division #1 (of 5) (Ron Lim Trading Card Variant)
