CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 3/31/23

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBay trends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics:

#11 IRON FIST #14 | MARVEL | 1977
Sabretooth first appeared in this book, and lately, some WILD rumors have been circulating about him and DEADPOOL 3. Some mentioned a crossover with LOKI or a proper introduction of the X-Men. There is one, however, that is gaining some traction among the fanbase. Rumor has it Liev Schreiber is returning to play Sabretooth once again after he regrettably missed the opportunity for LOGAN. He was the best thing about X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, after all! While we wait for official confirmation, we tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 130%, with a high sale of $1,384 for a CGC 9.6.

#12 SPIDER-MAN #1 SILVER | MARVEL | 1990
This book remains hot as new sales slowly filter to the aftermarket. The Toddfather’s influence is felt throughout this list, including this book, a top submission to his CGC signing event (and a top submission amongst ALL books submitted to the grading company). Copies with and without his signature are hitting the market and being quickly bought up, including a CGC 9.9! We tracked 24 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 98%, with a high sale of $1,025 for a CGC 9.9 and a raw NM FMV of $23.

#13 THE PUNISHER #1 | MARVEL | 1987
Much like Wolverine, it took Frank Castle a while to receive his first ongoing series. Also, like Wolvie, his first appearance costs a hefty sum, with many settling to pick up this book instead. Especially as of late, with confirmation, John Bernthal will return to the role he so perfectly embodied. We tracked 18 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 127% with a high sale of $233.75 for a CGC 9.8 with a raw FN FMV of $33.

#14 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 | MARVEL | 2011
Miles Morales has become a beloved hero in the community, and his first appearance is a modern grail for many. Heck, he’s already getting a sequel later this year and has been the focus of longstanding live-action adaptation rumors. Walk down any toy aisle, and you’ll see him everywhere. Miles is here to stay, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see this book more often as SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE draws nearer. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 112%, with a high sale of $1,723 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $563.

#15 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #300 | MARVEL | 1988
Another Toddfather cover to hit this list and another top submission to his CGC signing event. It’s certainly pricier than the previous book we spotlighted, but that’s because it’s a holy grail for many collectors being the first appearance of Venom. VENOM 3 news has been nonexistent since January, when it was announced VENOM 3 was entering pre-production. Still, we are seeing higher than normal sales. We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 92%, with a high sale of $1,595.99 for a CGC 9.6 and a raw NM FMV of $571.

#16 CAPTAIN AMERICA #606 | MARVEL | 2010
This book has a fantastic cover and features the first appearance of Janice Lincoln (the daughter of Tombstone) as The Beetle. Rumors are swirling she could appear in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, a perfect pawn for the Kingpin to utilize. Recently, Vincent D’Onfrio reportedly stated BORN AGAIN would be like the Netflix series in tone. If so, The Beetle, Tombstone, DD, Kingpin, and The Punisher would be a mind-blowing return to TV. We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 88%, with a high sale of $10 for a raw copy. If you pay attention to our runner-up list every week, it often serves as a flare for future books that graduate up to the Top 10. So, keep an eye on this book.

#17 STAR WARS THE MANDALORIAN #1 | MARVEL | 2022
The Mandalorian is crushing it amongst the fan base week after week. It’s a must-watch, and this book has become a must-acquire for many. It features the first cameo of Grogu and the first traditional comic appearance of Din Djarin and the Armorer (they appeared in both magazines, graphic novels, and comic covers prior to this issue’s release), the central protagonists of season 3 (among others). If the Mandalorian remains successful, more could turn to this book. We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 97%, with a high sale of $135 for a CGC 9.6.

#18 VENOM LETHAL PROTECTOR #1 | MARVEL | 1993
This book sure likes to ebb and flow. It has odd bursts of activity and sees a flurry of sales (and price increases) before coming down and remaining steady for a while. It does mark the beginning of a beloved run of comics, and many consider it ripe for adaptation. So, not all that weird! We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 81%, with a high sale of $140 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $30.

#19 BATMAN ONE BAD DAY RA’S AL GHUL #1 BRIAN BOLLAND (1:100) | DC | 2023
Lately, these Batman books have been spotlighting certain members of the Batman rogues gallery. Each comes with a plethora of variants and has many collectors aiming to acquire them all. This Bolland 1:100 featuring a classic Ra’s is quite challenging to find, as any high ratio variant can be. Still, we tracked 3 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 67% with a high sale of $105 for a raw copy.

#20 STAR WARS THE MANDALORIAN #8 EM GIST TRINITY COMICS 2023 WONDERCON | MARVEL | 2023
Hot damn, this cover is crisp! This Ed Gist Wondercon variant is one of a few already hitting the aftermarket after the event. It is prime Mandalorian season, and a cover such as this is bound to see serious attention with a concentrated fanbase surrounding it. The community has put the proverbial eggs in the Mandalorian basket, and so far, it’s delivered! We tracked 7 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 53%, with a high sale of $120 for a raw copy.
