Covrprice.com Top Ten for Week of 3/31/23

Since Covrprice.com  came on the scene, they have become a go to spot for watching eBay trends on comics. They scour thousands of eBay sales to cultivate data to spotlight the hottest selling comics. Here is this week’s Top Ten Comics:

#1 DCEASED WAR OF THE UNDEAD GODS #7 BEN OLIVER HOMAGE | DC | 2023
Purple Rain and The Dark Knight, that’s a normal word association, right? Ben Oliver took these concepts and illustrated a phenomenal homage to the Purple Rain album cover featuring Batman and Harley Quinn. The artwork is stunning, the colors are gripping, reminiscent of the already popular (and pricey) Batgirl #40 (2015), and Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow #19 Purple Rain homage covers. Unsurprisingly, this homage artwork has hit number one on our lists! We tracked 72 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 115%, with a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $9.

#2 NO/ONE #1 GERALDO BORGES REGULAR | IMAGE | 2023
Murders, copycat killers, vigilantes, and political ramifications are all pulled together in this new noir storyline from Kyle Higgins and Brian Buccellato. Aside from the gripping narrative, this 10-part series secured the talents of Rachael Leigh Cook and Patton Oswalt for an in-universe podcast. This story has been receiving a lot of hype, jumping from the bottom of our runner-ups to the top of our top ten this week! We tracked 36 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 116%, with a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and a VF FMV of $4.

#3 DEADLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #5 JUAN FERREYRA REGULAR | MARVEL | 2023
Last week we saw this issue drop a few spots since its debut. However, it refuses to drop further this week! It stubbornly holds on to the number three spot! While movement on this issue has slowed, it is still an issue to watch. Interest in it is waning by minuscule amounts, and fans are determined to get their hands on the first appearance of Dream Spider! We’ll keep an eye on this issue as we watch the future of Dream Spider unfold! We tracked 38 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 102%, with a high sale of $111 for a CGC 9.8 with a current NM raw FMV of $21.

#4 IMAGE 30TH ANNV ANTHOLOGY #8 | IMAGE | 2022
James Tynion IV is perhaps one of the most loved horror writers in the comic world today. His latest hit, Blue Book, was on our top ten upon its release last month. As fans anticipate his next project, W0rldtr33, they are settling for the preview in this issue of the anniversary anthology. If the next series is as big of a hit as SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN, this preview will likely increase in value! We tracked 35 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 105%, with a high sale of $129 for a CGC 9.8 and a current NM raw FMV of $29.

#5 STAR WARS DOCTOR APHRA #19 CHRIS SPROUSE LUCASFILM 50TH ANNIVERSARY | MARVEL | 2022
Bo-Katan has moved from random cameo appearances to a series regular in season 3 of The Mandalorian. Story arcs are being placed for her and her future role with the clan. In the most recent episode, Bo-Katan takes on an even more prominent leadership role, showing that she is beginning to adjust to the old ways of the Madalore. While it may seem that Bo-Katan has taken over Din Djarin’s starring role, fan reactions have been nothing but positive. Her first comic cover appearance is spectacular and worth a pick-up. We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 100%, with a high sale of $80 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $9.

#6 X-MEN #221 | MARVEL | 1987
Since last year, there have been rumors that Mr. Sinister was cast for an undisclosed MCU film. The actor reportedly playing the role is Javier Bardem. This should be taken with a grain of salt, as the rumor has no proof behind the claims. However, there is solid news on Mr. Sinister, as he will be featured as the main villain in the upcoming X-Men ’97 animated series. That is enough to light some fire under this issue! We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 98%, with a high sale of $370 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $66.

#7 DAREDEVIL #183 DIRECT EDITION | MARVEL | 1982
Frank Castle vs. The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen sounds like a damn monster movie! It is a match of epic proportions. No infinity stones, no magical weapons, or god-like powers. Two men, warring moralities, and nothing but a brutal, no-holds-barred fight for the right to deliver justice. Bernthal has been vocal about maintaining the core of his character in this new series, and we truly hope it remains! If so, let’s get a round two between these two vigilantes! We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 82%, with a high sale of $135 for a CGC 9.6 copy and a raw NM FMV of $31.

#8 THE OMEGA MEN #3 | DC | 1983
Lobo’s first appearance is as wild as the character himself! While some weeks we see this first appearance at the bottom of our runner-up lists, this week it spiked back onto our top 10! Despite no new news or recent rumors, this character has staying power. Whether Gunn will bring this character into the DCU (via Momoa?) is still yet to be confirmed. However, Lobo is a character that can hold his value without relying on a film appearance. We tracked 14 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 115%, with a high sale of $375 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $96.

#9 BRZRKR #1 RAFAEL GRAMPA REGULAR | BOOM! STUDIOS | 2021
While John Wick 4 may have nothing to do with this series, it still turned up the heat for anything Keanu Reeves! Since the series’s debut, there have been unofficial mentions of a film and animated show in development for BRZRKR. While this news has come from many sources, an official announcement has yet to be made. Nevertheless, this highly accessible issue lands on the top 10 for the first time! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 107%, with a high sale of $75 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $12.

#10 MILESTONE 30TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1 BILL SIENKIEWICZ (1:25) | DC | 2023
What is better than a key issue? Answer: A retailer incentive key issue overflowing with nostalgia! Static Beyond, an older version of the character, makes his grand debut in this issue. To add to this issue’s awesomeness, the story is reminiscent of the 2000’s TV show episode where Virgil meets Batman (Terry McGinnis). Static Beyond plays the role of a mentor to the new Batman in a fantastically illustrated story of this anniversary special. To top it off, Sienkiewicz delivers a stunning line-up of DC characters for the 1:25 ratio cover. We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 70%, with a high sale of $110 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $76.
