RUNNERS UP
#11 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES – FCBD 2024 #1 | IDW PUBLISHING | 2024
For those who ventured out for FCBD, there was a bit of a mad scramble for this book. It features the Nightwatcher on the cover, and fans are familiar with the persona. Typically, one of the four brothers takes on the moniker to dish out some vigilante justice, but the rumor mill is spinning that this may be a secret, new fifth turtle. Now, that would be absolutely amazing, but the community has to wait for confirmation. The last run just ended at issue #150, but IDW isn’t waiting long before jumping into the next run led by Jason Aaron! We tracked 69 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 100%, with a high sale of $44 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $6.

#12 X-MEN #4 | MARVEL | 1992
This book was popping up a few years ago for a different reason. Lately, it’s solely been due to X-Men 97’, which has been causing waves all over the market. A few weeks ago, we caught a glimpse of Omega Red, who first appeared in this book, being freed from his containment unit thanks to a worldwide EMP. Members of the community rejoiced at the notion we may see one of the X-Men’s more iconic and recent villains gracing the screen. Unfortunately, it might have to wait until next season, but at least we got a glimpse! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 104%, with a high sale of $110 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $20.

#13 THE OMEGA MEN #3 | DC | 1983
Yes, you may remember the rampant rumors that Jason Mamoa would be portraying the character in the James Gunn-led DCU. However, he’s making headlines for different reasons. 2024 has been the year of Lobo over at DC. The recent “House of Brainiac” event is set to feature a titanic battle between Lobo and the Man of Steel himself. Of course, it’s merely a coincidence we got the first look at the new Superman last week, and now we are seeing an uptick in sales for the first appearance of Lobo. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 49%, with a high sale of $338 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $60.

#14 SPIDER-MAN #1 – SILVER | MARVEL | 1990
Sometimes, a good old-fashioned fan favorite makes this list solely due to fan sentiment. It’s a classic for a reason, as Todd McFarlane was fresh off his work on ASM before launching this series. This was in every 90’s kids’ collection, most likely multiple copies, and is one of the books nearly everyone has. It’s a constant in the industry, which is rare! We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 29%, with a high sale of $95 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $12.

#15 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 | MARVEL | 2011
Miles Mania has subsided slightly, mostly because we’re in a bit of a lull. It’ll be a few years before he gets another outing on the screen, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t waiting in the wings to secure a copy of his first appearance. But, what fans want, is a live-action adaptation for the character. Supposedly, that’s in the works, straight from the creative team overseeing the animated Spider-Man films. Expect to see the hype reach a fever pitch if that project is announced and for this book to appear more often than it already has! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 19%, with a high sale of $1,052 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $338.

#16 DAZZLER #1 | MARVEL | 1981
Well, this book is hot once again, and not necessarily due to Taylor Swift rumors. While that’s gotten all the attention for the past few months, the most recent news propelled this book back onto our list after a brief hiatus. Marvel just announced that Dazzler will get a new solo series in the fall, with the headline “Her World Tour Begins,” a ‘From the Ashes’ event. Essentially, it’s a relaunch, but with the sub-text focusing on her world tour, with Taylor on a world tour – FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY JUST ANNOUNCE IT ALREADY. We tracked 16 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 68%, with a high sale of $73 for a CGC 9.6 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $19.

#17 DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE: WWIII #1 – GABRIELE DELL’OTTO – VIRGIN (1:100) | MARVEL | 2024
We’re on the cusp of Deadpool and Wolverine, so naturally, fans headed to the LCS when this book dropped. A lucky few were able to secure a high ratio variant from the mastermind Gabriele Dell’Otto, and those who missed out are paying a massive premium on the aftermarket. It’s well past the ratio cost at this point, but fans are willing to pay the price for an amazing book like this with a side of Wolverine homage sprinkled in. We tracked seven copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 46%, with a high sale of $460 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $161.

#18 UNCANNY X-MEN #266 | MARVEL | 1990
As fans of X-Men 97’ know, Gambit made the ultimate sacrifice in episode 5, and it was so dur à cuire but sad. It set Rogue down a path that has estranged her from her fellow X-Men and left her hands blood-red. While all signs point to his death being permanent, we got a special call-back to the character when Rogue donned his trademarked trench coat. Emotional attachment is big in the comic game, and those who felt their heartstrings pulled added to aftermarket traffic as they searched for the first cover appearance of Gambit. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 51%m with a high sale of $600 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $135.

#19 WOLVERINE #88 – DELUXE EDITION | MARVEL | 1994
We’re a little over two months away from Deadpool and Wolverine, and the excitement is palpable. The community just got another gut-busting 10-second snippet of what’s to come. The energy Deadpool and Wolverine, or Jackman and Reynolds, is putting off is drawing fans in like we haven’t seen in years. There’s a natural curiosity to revisit the origins, which leads many fans to this book. Being the first meeting between the two and the first battle is a big deal, considering most of the shots we’ve seen so far are these two duking it out. July can’t come soon enough! We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 35%, with a high sale of $110 for a CGC 9.6 copy and a current raw NM FMV of $95.

#20 SPIDER-WOMAN #7 – PEACH MOMOKO – BLACK COSTUME | MARVEL | 2024
This book has chilled out dramatically since last week but it’s still hot. Momoko has a MASSIVE fanbase, and so does Spider-Woman. Add in the first appearance of a new squad primed to be the new up-and-comers in Marvel comics and that’s a recipe for a coveted book. Enough said. We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 35%, with a high sale of $18 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $21.
